“Visit with the artistic Twins!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

At least one of the twin artists is available to answer questions about the petrified wood displays. He will also talk about how he and his brother work with the petrified wood to make unique music boxes. The kids easily spent an hour looking around in there.

“Unbelievable!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

Nothing to dislike about this place!! It is a must-see when you go to Ogallala. It started over on Front Street, then moved across the street into a quality designed museum. Years ago, the Petrified Wood Gallery was started by these 2 brothers (possibly twins) and they still manage it to this day. They are well into their 80's and a joy to talk with. They have used their skilled craftsmanship to make minature scaled buildings out of whatever they could find. This Gallery houses one of the largest arrowhead collections I have ever seen! Their display cases are filled with all types of fossils, rocks and arrowheads. There are paintings and busts displayed throughout this gallery. This is a sense of how the west was in the Ogallala area. There is no fee, just donation to walk into a world of "ahhh."

“Petrified Wood Hall-of-Fame”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

As you view crystallized wood specimens from around the world, volunteers will assist in your journey. Oh, and you must be sure to check out the giant Amethyst from Brazil! You will want to leave a donation.

“Great Place To Stop!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012 via mobile

Whoever said there was nothing but corn in Nebraska was CRAY CRAY!!(Crazy) this place is SO awesome. I am 23 and hate art and museums and love gift shops but this place was SO COOL! There is a billboard on I-80, which is how we found it, and it is right off the freeway, close to a gas station and food and everything. Super easy to get in an out. The sculptures are SO AMAZING! They look like miniatures. My boyfriend and I were both thoroughly entertained and there were some little kids running around loving everything too. I was very surprised that the brothers were ACTUALLY THERE! One of them showed me how he made them and even let me hold one of the framed pieces when I asked how heavy it was. The only bad thing (not actually bad) wasthat everyone liked to talk A LOT. I'm from LA. We don't tell strangers about our daughter in law's sisters education history. But it was still interesting learning about the lives of people in the places that we are traveling through. Overall AWESOME stop on the road. Supoet the local economy and DO IT!!!

“Nebraska's hidden gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

Educational, Inetresting, Entertaining and Awe Inspiring. Ogallala is a great place to stop and stretch your legs while traveling along I-80. If you stop you don't want to miss this little museum(donation only) and original local art gallery. This place ROCKS!
