“Disgusting”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012 via mobile

Stayed July 3rd. Pulled down bed covers to find a stained sheet. Could not have been missed by whoever made the bed. Travelling with a pet-$20 fee and relegated to a shabby room. Very worn.

That's what I would call this hotel. You walk in to this beautiful, huge lobby and then you are directed to a room that is quite a ways away from this lobby. The hallways were pretty run down and dingy. However, the room wasn't bad but internet was kind of spotty. I could get a connection but it wasn't great. It seemed to me an old hotel that had a newer hotel built around it. The rooms off the lobby were all labeled 'suites' but I don't think anybody was in any of them. I suspect this hotel does a lot of wedding receptions. However, two things made it one of the better experiences on our trip. Our air conditioner was not working, making a horrible noise. The custodial staff that came to fix it could not have been nicer or more efficient and took care of the problem immediately. The other was the terrific breakfast, probably the best we had on a trip where we spent nights in about 6 different hotels. Huge assortment of choices and real plates with two people helping take care of things.

On a 10 day trip, this hotel was the worst. If you have the bad fortune to be given a room in the older portion of the hotel, you will have no internet service, the bathroom will be dingy with broken fixtures, and the air conditioner will cycle on and off all night preventing good sleep. The front desk must be very used to people coming to the lobby to use their computers yet I see this problem is still not fixed. When I complained, I was told that the router in the older buildings should work. The fact that it did not work was of little concern to the staff. I wouldn't mind that much, but the room cost 100 dollars plus we had to pay an extra 20 dollars for our dog to sleep on the dirty carpet. I would not recommend this hotel.

We stay at Quality Inns on a regular basis and we were not disappointed at this one. Without reservations, we got a room on the 2nd floor at the back building (there are 2 buildings and this one is seperate from the Main hotel). Our room was clean and was newly furnished. The hotel seemed somewhat busy, but was also quiet, considering the number of guests. The only drawback with a 2nd floor room is there is no elevator. We checked our room for bed bugs and found NONE. The beds were comfortable and we experienced a good nights sleep. The breakfast buffet the next morning was good, but nothing spectacular. There were 2 attendants watching over both foods and guests tending to our needs. That was nice. We would stay here again and would recommend this hotel.

Our room was clean and comfortable. It had a microwave and fridge which was nice. There also were the standard amentities which met our needs. The beds were very comfortable and despite the fact that the hotel was extremely busy, it was a quiet night's rest for us which we appreciated very much. That said, when we checked our reception at the Front Desk was luke-warm to disinterested (maybe because it was so busy.) We ate in the restaurant downstairs, but again, it was very busy and we had a significant wait for the few items we ordered. The breakfast the next day was obviously impacted by the great number of people staying at the hotel - we weren't really early but not late and there was slim pickings and what there was, wasn't very good. To sum it up, we rested well but didn't experience anything special enough that would make us be sure to come back again.

OK deal. Nothing disappointing, but nothing really remarkably outstanding. I thought that the outer (outdoor and some, indoor) corridors leading from parking lot to rooms and through the buildings from one side (odd rooms) to the other (even rooms) were too unsightly with leaves and other natural trash. Comfortable room, but as usual, these room air conditioners/heaters are noisy. Always good to find a room with refrigerator and microwave. I found the price good for the value received, but this was not much beyond an OK visit. We thought that the breakfast left some to be desired (could the breakfast potatoes and sausages have been from a previous day, reheated or just plain overdone?), but the ambience was really great. The flushing mechanism in the bathroom was difficult. Despite the small spider that sat on a pillow when we checked in (and the air conditioner sounds that interrupted somewhat), the sleep quality was good. I dislike a room that disallows either privacy or natural light or sacrifices the latter while seeking what little of the former one can get. This room was that.

This location is right off the Interstate, so it's excellent for road warriors. It's within walking distance from a plethora of great restaurants.

Room Tip: Higher floors are likely to offer more natural light.

Once again, we stayed at the Sandhills Convention Center (Quality Inn & Suites) last night (2/11/12). We have come to plan our trips around a stay in North Platte at the Quality Inn. Your "Rest Assured" guarantee is great, and we have always been pleasantly surprised with the quality and value your establishment offers - better than our previous experiences at various other of your competitors.
Your staff is always so accommodating, and helpful. Please pass this attempt at high praises around to the entire staff.
