“The way things used to be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2011

I estimate that this property was built in the early 1960's but judging it by its condition it seems brand new. "Well maintained" doesn't begin to describe it. To say it has been nearly perfectly preserved from a gentler by-gone era is more accurate. However, the amenities are up to date. The bed was very comfortable , the outdoor pool sparkles, and a fridge and micro are in the room.
I believe that the owners live on the premises ( at least they are always on site ) and definitely treat the place like home. The other travelers that we encountered there were very polite and considerate, also.
There are very good dining options nearby without going back out to the Interstate.
And the frosting on the cake-----------the very modest price for such wonderful accommodations.

Room Tip: Get reservations------they fill up early.

I reserved this motel for a place to sleep while we were on a road trip. Prior reviews warned that it's not right off of the interstate. However, we weren't at all inconvenienced by the 3 minute drive it took to get there. The price couldn't be beat. The office manager was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and quiet. If you just need a place to sleep and don't care about the size of the room or having breakfast included, this hotel is fine.

My wife and I stayed at this delightful little place enroute to Wyoming to visit the usual historical sites. The gentleman who greeted us upon arrival was etremely polite and had great pride in his motel. He chatted with us as we checked in and we had a wonderful conversation. The motel was a real gem. The room was the usual.....nice queen beds, clean throughout with the usual room items including a microfridge. The price was simply super. Hotels at twice the price didn't offer the cleanliness and ameneties of this one. For us it was the perfect overnight stay.....everything we needed to get a good night's sleep. The lobby area was too small to offer any kind of breakfast and that may be a drawback to some, but the comfort and cleanliness of the room was enough to make us happy. Most of these hotel "cookie cutter" breakfasts aren't that much anyway. A good night's sleep in a safe environment is the important thing and this truly is a "best value" in that respect. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Small room, but clean and comfortable. The motel is older, but well-kept. Highly recommended. The owner is very helpful and friendly.

We stayed here while in town for a wedding, even though there was a block of rooms available at one of the well-known chains on the interstate (at more than twice the price!). The room was spotless, the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, air conditioning was more than adequate (believe me, it was sizzling HOT outside), and the owners/operators were so hospitable and friendly--they treated us almost like old friends rather than guests. We had a lot of leftover food from the rehearsal dinner that had to be either refrigerated or thrown away since we had to be in town over the course of 3 days; when we explained this to the management, we were allowed to store our large Tupperware storage containers in their living quarters' fridge until we left two days later.

We still can't get over the price of the room and the savings it afforded us! We only wish we had had time to take advantage of the pool; it looked great, but we were just too busy. However, since the newlyweds live in North Platte, we plan to be there to visit soon---and there's no doubt about where we will stay! Thanks to this family-owned-and-operated motel we will get the same big bang for our buck that we experienced last week.....and we will be doing some swimming next time. Hats off to the management and staff; you definitely helped to make our stay a pleasant one.

My husband, dog and I stayed there simply because North Platte was a good stopping point on a road trip. After reading some negative reviews, I was not expecting a lot and was just hoping for a place to get some rest. We were pleasantly surprised by the room. It was spacious, comfortable and clean though a little "vintage". For the price we couldn't ask for more...and the best part, dogs are free (a big plus). The inn is off the beaten path a little bit. You have to travel about a mile into town, but it was not a huge inconvenience. We were so pleased with our stay that we made it a point to stay there again on our way back through. We stayed at the Motel 6 on the main strip last year and it was disgusting. So glad we found this inn!

We stayed 5 days - meeting family and business. Location is great for being close to lots of things. The hotel was clean - it was nice to have a refrigerator in the room. the air conditioning worked well. The staff, from the owner to the room staff, were very friendly and helpful. The "on site" computer tech helped me with the WiFi - it worked great too then !!!
The pool was very clean and refreshing after hot summer nebraska days. We will be back !!!

Room Tip: corner room 48 - close to stairs, overlooking poor
