I make an annual trip to Wyoming to visit family, and sometimes I stay in Nebraska City on the return leg of my trip. I like the Best Western because it's conveniently located off the highway, and near a variety of dining establishments, both fast food and casual dining. The hotel always appears clean and well-maintained, and it feels safe. The hotel has an indoor pool, and offers a continental breakfast, but I have never taken advantage of either one. The rooms are a little on the bland side. The televisions are old, but my biggest complaint is about the beds. They are hard, and in the summer you get a sheet, a thin blanklet and some strange piece of decorative cloth that certainly can't be considered a comforter. I like a colder room when I sleep, but there isn't enough bedding to strike a good balance between a cool room and a warm bed, so I never sleep well, which is kind of important when you are traveling. On my most recent visit, I was not particularly impressed with the staff during check-in. I don't think that greeting someone with "Do you have a reservation," is necessarily the most welcoming opening. Given the abruptness of the greeting, I wondered what would have followed had I said, "no." Considering the proximity of Lincoln, with a larger variety of lodging options, I might try some other hotel next year.
