“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

This hotel is great in that it is within walking distance of so many things. Activities, food, venues, etc. The valet service is only a few bucks more to go in and out as much as you want, SO worth it, especially when it is cold outside! The breakfast is great, as usual. The room is clean, comfortable and very nice.

Great hotel - stayed 3 nights for work. Arrived late at night and received very warm welcome from reception. Rooms very clean and large, with kitchenette facility and sitting room. Breakfast ( which carries wide choice) is included. Room service was very efficient, ample servings and great value. Walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Only fault if I could find one is the coffee - very very weak - not even sure it tasted of coffee.

However I do recommend this hotel - spacious, clean, friendly and welcoming.

I stay at this Embassy Suites in downtown Lincoln, NE quite frequently when visiting my children who attend UNL. It is a clean hotel and in a great location if you want to be downtown. It is within walking distance to many great restaurants, across the street from a large cinema, and only a 5 minute walk to the Husker Stadium. The rooms are all suites which includes a living area and a separate bedroom. The bedroom is very quiet. The daily breakfast is awesome and includes a cooked to order breakfast, along with a large variety of other breakfast foods. They also include a two hour period in the evening for drinks and snacks. They do include a pool and workout room also. I really do like this hotel and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: I always request a higher floor in the corner because it can get a little noisy from the openness of...

Me and my college theatre program students stayed here for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Embassy Suites was the official hotel for the event this year and they did an awesome job! Great breakfast, outstanding amenities, and quiet, relaxing, large rooms. Absolutely wonderful - we all enjoyed the stay!

This weekend I attended a conference at this hotel. When I checked in, they had upgraded me (upgraded? I thought everything was a suite). This was a SUITE! I have stayed here for this conference for several years now and the staff handle several hundred college students very well. The rooms are nice and clean, the breakfasts are filling, and the evening receptions are welcome. I would suggest improving the coffee at breakfast (instant machine).

To respond to the other review with a room with a smoke smell - I one of my students was in a similar situation and I think it is a cultural problem with inconsiderate guests. Until the penalties are sufficient restraint, people will continue to abuse non smoking rooms.

Room Tip: They tend to put younger families on the lower floors, so the higher floors are quieter.

Embassy Suites can pride itself on being consistent in the overall quality of its chain of inns. Lincoln was Very Good, as Montgomery, AL, and Birmingham, AL have been in the past. The room was quiet and well appointed, and the on-site gym, indoor pool/spa/sauna in excellent condition. The room was clean overall, but a small, thin duvet at the edge of the bedspread on one of the beds had a few small stains (barely noticeable). On the second day of a three-day stay, television service on both TVs went out for almost the entire day.

Room service was prompt, and a big rave goes out to the car park attendant, who after one initial encounter seemed to almost psychically anticipate that the car would be needed, and had it brought around and ready pronto.

The free breakfast was also up to Embassy Suites' high standards, but on the first morning, there was too long of a wait for some food items to be replenished. The comment from another tripadvisor reviewer came to mind when encountering the "fake" coffee, which is a pouch of coffee syrup mixed with water through a dispenser. It was tasty, but so weak that one felt encouraged to prepare the in-suite coffee service, take the cup down to the dining area, and mix it with the breakfast bar stuff. This brings up another small disappointment - this one with the daily evening reception - wine served in *paper/plastic cups*? Not what one would expect of Embassy Suites.

Although there is free WiFi and it worked well, the lack of a "business center" with a hard-wired PC with printer to be able to print some important documents was extremely disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. FAX service is available, however.

Got lunch once at the on-site bar & grille. Service was a taste slow; the place seemed to be possibly understaffed. The barkeep was very friendly and accommodating, and she was careful to apologize for the slowness. The temperature and taste of the food were superb: hot with fresh ingredients.

Room Tip: The corner rooms in the x28 series (e.g. Suite 328, Suite 428, Suite 528, &c...) are highly reco...

We read good reviews of this hotel, and the room was attractive, the breakfast good. However, when we first checked in, our non-smoking room reeked of stale smoke. When we called the front desk, they refused to move us, instead offering us only the opportunity to have housekeeping spray air freshener in the room and set up an ozone machine. The machine was too loud to operate while we slept and once off, the stale smoke came back. Obviously, this was a smokuing room, as the smoke had penetrated the furniture and carpeting and could not be masked.

This hotel attracts large groups of unsupervised teens and children. The particular night we stayed, about 15 girls were having a sleepover, and were allowed to roam the halls, screaming, non stop until 3 a.m. in the morning. Teenagers were allowed to hang out all night in the downstairs atrium, and noise carries throughout the hotel. Very difficult to sleep through all the noise, and very annoying. Impossible to get an elevator to go to our room, as they were all monopolized by the packs of children who were allowed to play with them constantly for hours on end. Great place if you're a kid and you want a "Lord of the Flies" experience. However, my children were disturbed by the wild behavior and appalled that no one did anything.
