“Location is Great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I chose this hotel due to its location to the job site. It was perfectly located within walking distance of great restaurants, coffee shops and bars. I would definitely stay here again. If you are using GPS make sure you update your maps before travelling here as a lot of road work has been done in the recent past.

Great stay again. Clean rooms great neighborhood. Wonderful staff. I will be back again in a few months and I will absolutely stay here again. I really had a chance to enjoy the outdoor seating this time around since the temperature wasn't below 0

I was disappointed in this property. Multiple hairs on the shower wall that looked like an art project, a mini fridge that sounded like an aircraft engine and froze my food, a replacement mini fridge that was quieter but still froze my food, hollow walls that subjected me to the coughing fits of the next door neighbor and truck noise from the street below, load heating and cooling sounds from the building in general, a lack of knowledge of the Hilton Honors program. In general, a disappointment. For the price paid, a great disappointment.

This hotel is clean, safe and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Very convenient to all downtown restaurants, pubs and shops. Great location for UNL games and events. The breakfast is great and the onsite bar is nice. Highly recommended.

Beautiful lobby, clean rooms, excellent staff. They were so very helpful to us. The location is great too. Awesome spot for ease to dining, entertainment, football/baseball games. Nice walking distance for each thing. The town is very nice.

I stayed at this hotel, which is practically brand new, while at a conference at the University. You couldn't ask for a more perfect location. Walk the Haymarket area with lots of new restaurants and artsy shops, walk around downtown and take in the Capitol, and explore the lovely campus.

Pros:
New, modern, not showing much wear at all.
Nice lobby and friendly, helpful desk staff.
Towels - relatively soft and still white - not over-bleached and crunchy.
Water - Steady hot water, adjustable settings on shower head.
Toiletries - Nice quality Neutrogena products with pleasant mild scents.
Bed - Medium firmness - a comfortable sleep, but not as comfortable as some others that "hug you" more.
Pillows - Some large, some square - feathery - fairly comfy, although they flatten a bit.
TV - flat screen, rather large (didn't use, can't report on channels/reception)
Mini-fridge provided
Iron/ironing board - like new, good condition
Wake Up Calls - On time as requested
Restaurant attached - did not eat there, but had a "box lunch" from there provided by the hotel - high quality sandwich ingredients, fresh fruit.
Wifi- Free Wifi was fairly strong. Graphics were a bit slow to load, but not to the point that it was frustrating. You have to relog in every day.

Cons:
No In-Room Safe
View - My view was of an ugly roof with air handlers and a parking garage. I heard the rooms on the other side looked across at other hotel or apartment building.
Phone - Buttons not programmed - If you press "Wake Up Call" button, you get no where. Have to dial zero for desk.

Fatal Flaw - The rooms have the extra security latch you can flip of the metal peg to keep people from keying into your room..this is great and not uncommon. However, these are designed in such a way that they can be pushed up against the door jam in order to prop the door open. There is a little metal clip on the door itself, designed to protect the door when it closes against this metal bar, instead of closing all the way. The first night I was there, a Saturday night, there was lots of late night activity - loud guests, screaming and running around children (none of which is the hotel's fault) but the worst part was that the people kept their rooms propped open so they could go back and forth in between them and every time they did so...thunk, Thunk, THUNK - all night and all morning long. I was kept up til well past midnight and awoken by the noise of the doors slamming early in the morning.

Luckily, there were far fewer guests in the hotel the next couple of nights. However, there were still folks using these as a door prop. In fact, one day, I came back from being out mid-day and housekeeping was still in my room - and guess how they had the door propped?

I'd HIGHLY recommend this lovely hotel if you aren't easily woken up by doors banging all night. Otherwise, I unfortunately, cannot. Perhaps management will consider whether or not they can modify these so that they work for security but not as door props.

Room Tip: Ask to be roomed away from any large parties or families and/or at the end of the hallway to avoid l...

DH and I needed a place to stay in Lincoln for one night, and this was a perfect choice. The staff was wonderful, room was clean and comfy. Location is perfect to get to all the Haymarket fun including Pinnacle Bank Area. Breakfast was yummy, as well. I hope we can stay here again next time we're in town!
