“Beautiful park!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

This huge park is a beautiful outdoor resource in Lincoln! It is filled with biking and walking trails, picnic areas, lakes, sand volleyball court, a sledding hill and a beautiful nature center and wildlife park. This is a huge park, nicely landscaped and well-maintained. Horseback riding is available near-by as well as golf. Bike paths from the city of Lincoln go all the way out to the park.A gem of a park and a wonderful resource for residents and visitors alike.

“A Gem of a Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

I visit this park regularly with my dogs. There is an extensive trail system that runs throughout the park, well maintained, that winds through trees and up and down hills. At the center of the park is the Pinewood Bowl, an outdoor amphitheater. The east side of the park is often used for weddings; and the west side of the park is where you'll find the Chet Ager Nature Center, which is a great place to take the kids for an educational and fun exploration. At the far west end of the park, they have large pasture/pen areas that hold small herds of buffalo, elk and deer. On the north side is a public golf course. There are actually places in this park where you can climb a hill and look out and not see anything but a wide expanse of trees and meadows - a great place to get away from it all!

“Lots of walking.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Pioneers park is a very big area. Lots of walking trails, biking and play areas. We like going to the nature area with the grandkids. Very educational. It's a great place to have a family picnic and enjoy the day.
