“Great place for picnics, relaxing and fishing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Holmes park and lake are located in Lincoln. Once you are in the park it is hard to tell you are in town. The lake is a nice fishing place with lots of spots to throw in a line. You won't catch any whales here, but if you like pan sized fish, it is great. As for the park, it is neat, clean and with plenty of restrooms that are clean. There are excellent facilities for children - - slides, swings etc. Parking for all these activities is convenient except when there is a home football game, as parking lots are full of fans who are picked up by bus. There are well maintained trails for hikers, bickers and I have seen handicapped folks with walkers ands wheel chairs. All seem to be managing well and having a great time.

“Nice Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

I stumbled upon this park by accident. I'm visiting from Michigan and I drove into Lincoln to do some geocaching. We are staying in Dorchester and there isn't much to do there. I noticed they had a couple of nice ball fields and a beautiful lake to relax near. There was a large group with lots of children having a picknik and they all seemed to be having a good time. I will try to return.

“Run around Holmes Lake”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

I enjoy running around Holmes Lake on the gravel. It has an awesome route that it takes you on and is pretty to see as you are running by. It also has a great park. The hills are great in the winter to sled on. The sand volleyball courts are kept nice as well. It is a fun place to be during all the seasons.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Sooo much to do here! Biking, hiking, canoeing, picnics, playground, fishing... the list goes on. Recent trips here including a romantic picnic and book reading in the park. My favorite place to spend the a Sunday.

“good family fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

The park offers trails for biking, hiking and running, softball fields, golf, fishing, sand volleyball, a playground and picnic shelters. If you want to boat, you'll have to bring your own (kayak, canoe, sail boats) Hyde Observatory is open on weekend evenings for stargazing. It's a fun family outing.
