“Nice hotel on I-80”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2008

Stayed here the night after staying at HI Express in Lexington. This hotel is nicer, so if you are wanting to choose, choose this one, its less than 40 minutes east of Lexington. They have a managers reception too, and overall it seems newer and nicer. Only beef I had was that I wanted to watch the KU-KState BBgame on TV. It was only being carried on ESPNU. Lexington hotel had it, thisone didn't. Also, couldnt get internet to work here either through wireless, high speed, or old dial up.Didnt matter though, KU lost so I wouldnt have wanted to watch anyway. Also, this room just like last night in Lexington was impossible to keep warm. To be fair it was below zero last night but heaters they are using are worse than other hotels Would easily stay here again, better breakfast than Lexington. Eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy.

This is a typical HIExpress - except the parking lot. Holy Cow! There was a full 5 inches of frozen slush throughout, and the precipitation was not recent. With the wind and the cold, it was a bit treacherous, to say the least! Nebraskans know about snow plows, so this is just a serious management problem. Otherwise, the room was fine, the shower sublime, and the food mediocre (odd-looking omeletes, good sausage, ok gravy and biscuits, dry cinnamon rolls, rubbery hard cooked eggs, plus the usual continental fare. The staff were friendly.

This hotel appears very new. It is clean and the breakfast is outstanding. The bedding was the latest Holiday Inn release. This is a great place for an over night traveling stay. Hotel staff friendly. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

We spent a night at the Holiday Inn Express on our way to Colorado skiing. Kearney is a nice halfway point across Nebraska and halfway to our ski destination. We had two adjoining double queen rooms. Both rooms had a fridge. The check in process was quick and the rooms were clean. The pool was clean and simple with a nice hot tub. The breakfast was the usual waffles, pastries, bagels, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, oatmeal, boiled eggs, milk, coffee, and juice. I would recommend this for an overnite or an extended stay in the area. There are several restaurants nearby including a Carlos O'Kelley's, Red Lobster, Skeeter Barns, and various fastfood chains. In addition, Cabelas is only a couple of miles away.

I usually stay with family when in Kearney but a recent trip necessitated a hotel stay. Upon checking in, we were upgraded to a suite, which meant there was seating area with a hide-a-bed couch and second TV.

The rooms were clean and well-kept, the staff friendly, the pool well-maintained. Cookies were available throughout the day at the front desk. The breakfast was fairly standard continental style, but a good variety of choices were offered. There is no on-site restaurant, but the hotel shares a parking lot with Skeeter Barnes, a restaurant/bar with pretty decent food.

Very close access to the interstate, too. We'd stay again!

We LOVE this place! The rooms are big and spacious. Both times we have stayed here, we have had a room that had 2 double beds and a sitting area separated by a partition which contains a hide-a-bed sofa and desk. There are two TVs, one in the bedroom area and one in the sitting room area! This is a really great place for a family to stay! The breakfast bar is great also - lots of selections, included with room. A really pleasant place and great deal! Highly recommended!
