“Lovely lodge break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

We stayed in the Waveney lodge Monday-Friday at the beginning of February and I think we paid just under £200.

It was only our second break away with our 9 month old baby daughter and this couldn't have been any better.
When describing it to someone before I went I said "It's probably like a glorified shed in someone's back garden". I couldn't have been more wrong. The lodges were of outstanding quality and you could tell the owners had spent a fortune on them and the furniture/fixtures and fittings etc. We had near hurricane force winds when we stayed but the lodge seemed very sturdy and we barely noticed what was going on outside. It wasn't drafty at all and we seemed to comment more on how hot we were rather than cold so that was good!

It was immaculately clean and looked brand new. It was fantastic to have even things like anti bacterial spray/washing up liquid/dishwasher tabs in the kitchen. Everything seemed to have been thought about.

We couldn't get over the size of the lodge and there was ample room for a family of 4. It was great to have two bathrooms as well with two full size baths. It was bigger than our house!

Unfortunately we didn't get to use the hot tub due to the ridiculously high winds/heavy rain we had whilst we were there. The only thing I would say is it wasn't very private in this lodge as it overlooks the shop entrance however this is being majorly picky. The shop wasn't exactly Oxford Street and there has been bushes planted around the decking to presumably provide some covering once grown.

We went to Southwold, Beccles and Halesworth all of which were worth visiting for mooching about.

Overall a fantastic break which we would consider returning to and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

My wife and I stayed in the beautiful Blyth lodge for 3 nights, had a lovely break, all features of the lodge were immaculate, and very inviting hot tub, which we ventured into every day, even though one of days was 'a tad windy' , more hurricane strength :) .we drove one day into Southwold, and although cold, wet and windy have a nice stroll around the shops and seafront On the Sunday we had a drive into Great Yarmouth, not how I remembered it, but the beach, seafront and path along the sea was a nice sight and spent a couple of hours strolling up and down the promenade.........back to the lodge for a relaxing soak and supper, we took all of our own food and ate most evenings in the lodge, as we snacked out during the day, in future, I would make full use of the site shop as we felt we let them down by being self-sufficient, the site was clean and for this time of year completely full, that should say it all about this great relaxing site........next time we visit, we will bring our grandchildren, so baton down the hatches :) , also, a good venue for venturing out o nearby towns/places of interest.

A big thank you, really enjoyable break, Cathy & Dave

Very friendly site The lodges in their setting are lovely .inside the lodge was very nice indeed and we was blown away how big but at the same time very warm and cosy and these lodges inside are like new with no expense spared ..everything you want like home from home . in your kitchen all fully equipped .Bathrooms very clean with plenty of space and always had plenty of hot water . very comfortable stay ..4 of us stayed from Friday 14th February until the Monday morning (17th feb 2014) ..Hot tub was lovely ..great relaxing time and we all cant wait to go back again ... not much on site ..no club house but we knew this and for us this place was the best ..so quiet and time to chill with all the family .a big thank you to the owners who made us feel so welcome .I would welcome to all .The star pub is friendly but no kids menu ..but they will do smaller portions for the children if you ask just limited on what they can have .not the usual type of menu .The best short break we have had and will defiantly be returning to the Waveney lodge no 7. loved it !!!

The lodge was amazing, we chilled out in the evenings, the owners recommended Southwold, Walberwick or Dunwich as we only stayed a weekend we couldn't fit them all in so we have already booked again to check out some more of Suffolk, we walked to the local pub and the food and natives were great.

Thoroughly enjoyable break. Very warm welcome from the owner, everything from check in to check out we couldn't fault. We stayed in Blythe Lodge which was for 2 people, this had ample room and the hot tub was excellent. The shop had all you required including newspapers and food at the local pub The Star Inn was very good and well priced.

This is with out doubt the best log cabin I've been too. It's so good we have now visited 3 times! The owners who we call Mr & Mrs Jim as not sure on the wife's name are fantastic. The lodge everytime is to the highest standard, towels, dressing gowns and slippers all provided. Only negative hot tubs not ideal for more than 4 as not the biggest. Will be booking to go back again this year!

4 of us stayed in the deben premier lodge for a long weekend and enjoyed every minute of it.
The lodge is finished really nicely with everything you need, plenty of towels for the hot tub so no need to take your own.

The shop on site isn't badly overpriced, and saves you driving to the nearest supermarket.

Would definitely recommend to anyone and look forward to going again.
