Checked in was good....staffs friendly and efficient. Hotel was easy to locate. Lots of open-spaced parking. Stayed at the 2bedroom apt...Had dirty sofas in the room. Living Room floor sticky. Theme park facilities was not well kept. Theme park Floor slippery and my girl fell as she was walking towards the slide. Pool area near the restaurant are in better condition. Lots of beach activities and good for family with kids.
Buffet breakfast limited choice but the Nasi Lemak nice and tasty. Good for a short getaway.

We visited this place a year ago, and my memory of the place was mostly positive. We booked the place though Agoda (and paid too much, but it was last minute). When we got there, the check in was quick and painless.

We got a room on the 5th floor of block E. The lift was kind of slow, but once we got into the room, we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the duplex room. Downstairs, there is a sofa, sink and small tv. The floor to ceiling windows are a treat.

Upstairs, we found wood flooring and a nice queen bed. Generally, things were quite clean, though I felt a bit of sand on the floors (after all this is a beach resort, right?).

What I love about this place is the huge compound. The kids' play area and waterpark will provide endless hours of horsing around for the young and young at heart.

Food here is fairly expensive. But if you drive there like we did, you can take a 20 minute drive to the town and have your cheap seafood there. We had the chili crab at the coffee shop in front of a giant metal shrimp. The town is not big, so if you go there, you have a 90% chance of finding what I just described.

But we also ate at the hotel, and opted for the dinner buffet. For RM25 per person, you get a simple spread of local specialities. We thought it was a rather average experience.

What was fun for us was exploring the beach and activities, including jet ski, para sailing, 4X4 rides etc.

Would go back again to see what its like once our son gets old enough. Things change fast though, so we'll have to check back again at Trip Advisor. ;)

Room Tip: Non smoking, low floor, facing the pool.

road trip to a getaway nearby and chose desaru.

booked a one bedroom suite, check in was hassle free. we changed room as i would prefer to face the theme pool and they respond to our request fast. facing the pool was not as noisy as i thought it would be.

he room was really spacious and clean, apartment style. it was equipped with a mini kitchen area though no utensils provided. has a comfortable sofa and a tv.

the bedroom is on the 2nd level and has a bathtub.

the location is great. is very near to the beach and you can take buggy car within the hotel compound.

the breakfast spread was average, have quite few variety thou like malay food, cereal, porridge etc.. as for dinner we drove out to eat. have quite nice seafood restaurants

overall this hotel was great, has everything within its compound. kids would love here too as they have the water theme pool.

would stay here again for a short getaway!

Room Tip: better to drive out to eat. they are more choices

Two cars drive up to Desaru for a quick getaway over the weekends. Room is good, with kitchen and fridge. Lifts are slow. Plenty of parking lots, accessible to beach via tram services from lobby, or just flag down along the way. Dining place is very packed during peak period. They had to extend the buffet in their function rooms.
GREAT entertainment for family and kids at night by the beach during dinner. Live band, and also performances on the grass patch. Line dancing and fun games for everyone. However toys and stuffs sold at cart are at least 3 times more expensive than sold outside. Cheap beach ball sold at RM10 whilst the one i bought at the supermart outside of their vacinity for RM2. There's gym and pool near the beach.
Area for swim at the beach is limited, since there's parasailing activities going on till sunset, we are not allowed to swim too far, in the range where the jetskis do their patrol.
Good night sleep, toilet is clean. In all, a simple getaway for most family from Singapore :)

Took a quick weekend break recently...was impressed by the rooms and activities mentioned on the hotel website. Revalidated the facilities during making reservation with the hotel directly.

On arrival we were given a room, to our surprise the room was not cleaned, there were used towels on the floor and dishes. Called the hotel reception through in house phone but no one was dispatched to our service for over 15mins. We had to then make our way to the reception by ourself to make our point and was given an alternative room, which till was not very clean, the toilet was in average shape but better then what we saw...

The other thing the resort could improve on is the buffet food...nasi lemak...was just plain rice!!!

The plus point of this resort which we really enjoyed:

- water park - lazy river..
- Ayurvedic treatment massage & steam bath!!!
- swimming pool
- some of the water activities (btw they donot offer kayaking anymore -despite them confirming it while reservation)
- camp fire & fire ball dance
- clean, quiet & private beach

Overall, it's been a good weekend breakaway. If you have the stomach for local food then you should try out the local floating seafood restaurant next to the river. It's just about 10 Kms from the resort.

Stayed there on 2 nights getaway, the rooms are nice but lack amenities for the price we pay. The tolieteries and room service need improvement. no drinking water in rooms.

The breakfast is need real improvement, the staff need training most of the food bowls were empty and no one is bothered to refill it unless a customer points out.

they have water sport but its at expensive side. they have ayurvedya spa but the staff is always in hurry finished an hour massage in 50 minutes.

tthe place is good if you want to relax and bring your own food and cook. but who wants to do that in holidays.

Great place for a night or 2 for the family. The kids love the water slide and the beach.the beach is nothing to rave about, quite dirty actually but its still a beach and the kids want the sand.stayed in a 2bedroom apartment for 5of us which is ok. The firefly tour was exciting at first but soon the lids got bored because it seem like just looking at a christmas tree . So i think the firefly tour is more suitable for older kids from 7years..
