“Nice place for family vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

Rooms are comfortable, fridge and microwave are a big boon. The pool is large and fun, with a very large shallow area good for young kids who cannot swim. Private, tranquil beach. Also options to rent boats and surfboards.

Maagan Holiday Village is a Kibbutz guest house and resort.

Located in the Jordan Valley, Israel, on the southern shores of the Sea of Galilee.

This Kibbutz is a fantastic place to stay with the whole family. I stayed here while i was on tour and only stayed for one night but wish I could have stayed longer.

The Kibbutz is a very large complex with many activities and options for all ages including a large pool and kids play area, Kayaks, Windsurfing, Pedal Boats etc.

Rooms where very modern with air-condition and kept very clean, I stayed in a double room which had a large balcony over looking the Sea of Galilee. Amazing views especially during the sunset.

The Kibbutz has a small dining area offering buffet meals, food however was very basic.

There is also a small general store located next to the dinning hall.

I would definitely recommend to stay here. i had a relaxing and enjoyable stay and would very much like to return.

This is our second time there, two families on a weekend vacation. The Hotel surroundings are beautiful with the Sea of Galilee in the background. Swimming pool is great, especially for kids. Rooms are comfortable and clean for the entire family. The kitchenette is minimalist – you have to bring your own utensils. Breakfast is a little disappointing comparing to the standard breakfast in Israeli hotels, and although it is served until 10:00 am, the staff starts to clear everything already at 09:30 making you feel rushed, but we are on vacation…

Room Tip: By the pool at extra cost approx. 200 NIS but worth it.

Stayed here 3 nights with tour group. The little cottages are older but decent. We did see a roach in our bathroom one morning. There is a small kitchenette and two couches with beds and beds underneath. These were hard as a rock and since we had a 3rd person staying with us (teenager) we had to fight to get them to bring us another softer mattress to put on top which they finally did but with a lot of attitude. Meals were buffet style and pretty much the same each day. The views are nice and there is lots of grassy areas and a small beach. Not much around the immediate area to do in the evenings. Tiberias is about a 15 minute drive away. There is free internet access in lobby and some cottages if the signal reaches.

Stayed here on a tour and it suited everyone in the group perfectly. The units are spacious (we had three in ours - 2 in the twin room and one on the sofa bed) and there was plenty of room, wardrobe space, etc. It is great how all of the units face the sea and you are not staring straight into someone else's room.
The food in the restaurant was very good (much better than I thought it might be) and whilst not the standard of a high-class restaurant it was very tasty with a large variety and replenished regularly which is always important for a buffet. The place is filled with tour groups so it does get busy quickly, but with reserved seating for all of the groups this was no problem.
I was also pleased that the wifi worked throughout the property.

We had wonderful 3 nights stay during the Passover break together with 2 additional families. The view from the units is beautiful and there is a lot of space for the children to play. The family unit is pretty basic but clean and spacious. Fresh towels are supplied every day. Kitchenette is practical (note that dishes aren't supplied). Landscape of the village is well kept. The wide loans can be used as playground while barbeque can be done near the units. There is a nice pool and a lovely beach (with lifeguard). Beach towels and beach chairs are free of charge. You can also rent a boat and sail from the village. There are activities organized by the entertainment team and also a children club that offers interesting options for all ages. We specifically loved the singing evening around the fire. Breakfast is served in central dining room that overlooks the Kinneret Lake. Food is various and delicious.

Room Tip: best units are the first line on the lake front

Arrived on the final day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread Shabbat holiday and the whole place was noisy and teeming with holiday-makers and children. We stayed here for two nights as part of a group tour package. Our unit No. 109 had a good view of the Sea of Galilee through the palm trees. The unit had a sizeable living room, a kitchenette, toilet and bathroom with a long bath, and a decent sized bedroom. It was clean and well presented. The free wi-fi internet was a blessing. However, the bathroom door kept swinging open when we tried to keep it closed. The cupboard doors were incorrectly positioned and caused scuffing and denting on the facia and walls. There were no woollen blankets nor quilt on the bed except for mattress protectors in the cupboard which had to suffice as blankets. The buffet food served in the dining room, which overlooked the Sea, was varied and tasty. Sadly, most of the the staff employed in the dining room were indifferent, unfriendly and discourteous.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the swimming pool.
