Needed a place to stay in the area and this place was great. Although we didn't eat dinner in the restaurant, the breakfast was excellent. The room was very comfortable and way out! Would definitely stay again.

Imagine a lovely afternoon spent outside, slowly working your way through the excellent hand-pulled craft beers. Quick snooze and a shower in the well-appointed rooms; not too flash, just about right. Dinner is the highlight, excellent menu & wine-list.

We found our perfect pub here whilst staying elsewhere and wished we had found this first. Visited for Sunday evening meal at the end of what had according to staff been a very long day serving dinners to clearly happy customers. They didn't waiver though. Lovely food, steak perfectly cooked to request and lamb wrapped in ham didn't disappoint and the choice of local ales was good. Large comfy sofas were the place to rest and chat afterwards around a large fireplace, wooden floors, mix of large tables for groups and quite corners with tables for two.

We took opportunity to explore the place and it has been fitted out with some panache and taste - from the toilet facilities (really) to the rooms of varying standards/sizes and prices to suit. We want to go back and stay for a weekend with friends and probably not leave the premises! If Carlsberg did pubs....

Stayed for one night in a deluxe room. Room was lovely and spacious with real attention to detail. Bathroom was nice and modern with lovely extras, and bathrobes. Four poster bed was huge and soooo comfy.Breakfast was delicious with a lot to choose from. Although meals in the restaurant may be a bit pricey they are lovely, well presented and service is spot on. Cant wait to return.

Room Tip: I can imagine all the rooms are lovely but i would definately book a deluxe room again

Stayed here for two nights recently and was totally bowled over by the place.Everything was perfect .We picked a standard room but when we saw it we thought they had made a mistake and put us in a superior room,it was fantastic!(room 6). Downstairs in the pub/restaurant area the layout was ideal with plenty of room to relax and everything was spotlessly clean .We ate both nights and the food was lovely and very well presented ,the service was always friendly and of a very high standard.Had a lovely nights sleep both nights, nice and quiet.Breakfast was perfect too,we had the full English and you could not fault it. As you can tell we loved our trip and cant wait to go back again and highly recommend anyone to do the same!

My wife and don't slum it when we travel together, but neither do we generally go this far up-market for a b&b believing that there are better ways of spending hard earned cash when you're asleep for half the time! The Bear's Paw changed this and every aspect of our stay, from the toiletries to the poached egg, was perfect. Since neither of us actually really likes hotel living we rarely find ourselves returning home with anything but a sense of relief that we're back in familiar surroundings and our own bed. This experience changed that and I shall look no further for anything in that area when we next stay over in Cheshire. Just need an excuse ......

Room Tip: Only stayed one night but can't imagine that there's anything bad to say about any of the ro...
