“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

We spent an awesome two days at La Bufadora. Shari was extremely welcoming. Although we were too late for the whale season, Shari shared information and videos from that time. Her enthusiasm is contagious. We instantly felt at home. We had originally planned on staying one night, but quickly decided to extend another day. This was definitely the place to come and recharge the batteries. The constant sound of the surf in the background is extremely restful.
We will definitely be back!

We stayed two nights at "La Bufadora Inn" and it was great! The surrounding is really tranquile and you can relax. The hotel is small and cosy. The Dolphin-Room has two big windows with oceanview (awesome!!!) and the decoration is really nice. The ocean and the coast are beautiful. Near the hotel it is rocky (and really beautiful for a walk), but close there are lonesome sandy beaches. We made a Sea Lion trip to Asunción Island, which was great. There are so many sea lions with babies and birds! The owner, Shari, made really good coffee and fruit salad in the morning! You can eat delicious seafood in the small town. It is a little paradise out there!

Room Tip: Dolphin Room with ocean view!

We are so glad you liked our little paradise and got to see Asuncion Island and all it's critters. It is always interesting to have European guests and we enjoyed having you stay with us.

We had a awesome trip down to Baja Asuncion , Myself and my daughters' boy friend towed by boat down for a few days, Two of the nicest most helpful people are Juan and Shari,. Juan told us where to fish and even towed my boat of the water when my truck broke down. Then he got a local mechanic to come by and fix it. Shari took care of just like a mom would. The room was perfect with an ocean view. Also the drive down was a easy now that the road is repaved. I forgot to mention all the big yellowtail we within a mile of the beach!!!

I had always wanted to make the drive to the Asuncion Pacific side of the Baja Peninsula and finally was able to do it. While the road is paved now all the way, it has some rough spots and really is the only drawback from spending a few days with Shari and Juan at their La Bufadora Inn. It is great for fishermen and even better for writer's and those that want to get away and stay in a cute litte resort right on the Pacific with the sounds and sight of the blow hole going off at low tide. Shari is the best and her knowledge of the gray whale can not be beat. I'm going back in March to take her Whale Magic Tour!

Room Tip: Dolphin room with full view of the Pacific, ground floor for ease

we had a wonderful trip over to the Pacific side of Baja. Stayed at La Bufadora for 3 nights in the rock room. Rocks are great for a good night sleep and it is so quiet there. A lovely experience we will no doubt repeat next summer when our side is too hot. The fishing with Juan was one of the nicest fishing experiences we have enjoyed.

As I discovered, September is the best month to flee the hot temperatures of southern Baja, and travel out the newly paved road to Bahia Asuncion. I was lucky to land at the Sunset Casita, which really has beautiful Pacific Coast sunsets. The casita is cozy, well stocked and very comfortable, and surrounded in a rugged beachy neighborhood of family homes. Bring your own food, as few restaurants are in town. Shari the owner is friendly and an amazing women having a whale of an experience in this rugged part of Baja Sur. I´ll be back!

What a wonderful location. Nestled in a quiet sea side cove in the quaint little fishing village of Bahia Asuncion, Baja Sur, Mexico. Waking to the sounds of the seals barking in the distance and a beautiful sunset every night. This is truly a once in a life time experience. For those who want a genuine luxury Baja, Mexico adventure, I highly recommend the La Bufadora Inn. Shari and Juan are the consummate hosts and will see that all your needs and desires are taken care of during your stay. Shari doubles as inn keeper and tour guide when possible and is very knowledgeable of all of southern Baja especially the California Gray whales during calving season in Guerrero Negro. If you're going anywhere in Baja Sur put this one on your bucket list for sure. You'll never know what you missed if you don't and you'll be sorry later.

Room Tip: Shari gave me the "Dolphin" room. WOW !!! Sleeping by the sound of the waves gently cares...
