“Great Atmosphere and Excellent Value for Money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2010

In late 2009 about 70 of our club members travelled to Cherrabah Homestead Resort for an annual club party.

The Cherrabah Resort team were extremely pleasant to liaise with in the planning and preparation for the party over several months; and that pleasant atmosphere then extended to the night of the party and throughout the weekend. The resort staff went out of their way to help our club prepare for a fantastic party weekend. Whilst our club members were only booking in for one night it was absolutely tremendous that they were able to check into their rooms from 10 am on the Saturday and not check out until 2 pm on Sunday. That was ‘Great’!

The table settings in the spacious restaurant, the excellent Gourmet Buffet Dinner and the overall country atmosphere made for a very memorable occasion for our club members; who generally partied well into the night until the licensed bar closed; and from all accounts they literally had an absolute ‘ball’.

Club members were accommodated overnight in comfortable ensuited motel style cabins which were of a very acceptable 3 star standard.

Cherrabah Homestead Resort, which abounds in a delightful country atmosphere, is established in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range with magical views across the valley in which the small town of Killarney is nestled.

Many of our club members have expressed their absolute delight at having had the opportunity to enjoy such a wonderful club weekend at a facility which they all stated offered excellent value for money.

The overall atmosphere made for a very memorable occasion for our club members; and following on from the success of the party weekend; arrangements have now been made by members of our club to have a ‘Back to Cherrabah Weekend’ at the resort in May 2010.

We travelled here for an overnight stay, dinner and breakfast as our Christmas function for a social club.

The property is run down.

The pool water was green and the surrounding green matting was torn, worn and filthy. The chairs in the pool area were dirty. We were told a large amount of chlorine was added to the pool on the Saturday morning and we could swim in it but not put your head under water. We were also told we could use any of the four (4) spa houses. At 38 degrees, covered in green slime and windows you could not see through..........I don't think so!

The buffet dinner was reasonable.

The room was a reasonable size. Coat hangers in the wardrobe were covered in a layer of dust. No fitted bottom sheet on the bed. Instead a flat bottom sheet and you could see the mattress at the top of the bed under it. No top sheet, just a doona and then a bedspread on top of that. The bed was so uncomfortable we couldn't sleep. It was as hard as a rock. The pillows were awful. I even tried sleeping with a pillow under me but that was also very uncomfortable.

The staff were helpful.

The current management, in my opinion, have no idea how to present a property suitable for guests. Apparently years ago it was quite a nice spot.

We travel regularly in all standards of accommodation. We were not expecting 5 stars but we were expecting a reasonable standard and a clean property. We thought it was dreadful and would never return and definitely cannot recommend it.
