Rowse´s 1+1 Ranch is the place to go for everyone who´s focus is on riding and participation in every day life on a real working cattle ranch. We have been at the ranch for four weeks in August and standard schedule has been riding the different pastures to check on the cattle and doctor them if needed. This is done either in a morning and an afternoon ride or on one long ride. Alternatively there have been cattle drives from pasture to ranch and back for preconditioning and cattle drives for rotating grazing pastures. When we finished early, we enjoyed team sorting in the arena or practised roping a dummy.
The very nice cabin room with private bath, fridge and AC gave us a welcomed rest in the night. All cabin rooms feature a porch to socialize with other guests.
This is a family operated guest ranch and your hosts make you feel at home from the first day.

I needed a break from my regular life so I booked one week vacation at Rowse's 1+1 Ranch.
This was the best vacation I ever had. Tammy and Jerry Rowse's were great host and made me feel part of the family. I never experienced ranch life before so it was totally different coming from a big city. I've learned alot in the week I was there and have a much better understanding of ranch life. Tammy is a great cook and I guarantee you that you wont go hungry there loll. Jerry is a great teacher and I learned alot from him. The horse I had the whole week is called Tell and he was great. You will meet alot of great travellers from all over the world like I did. They are great folks. The accomodations were excellent.
If you are searching for a real working ranch don't look any further than Rowse's.

From a small town in Maine, growing up dreaming about the cowboy way of life, to the rolling Sand Hills of Nebraska and Rowse’s 1 Plus 1Ranch with it’s spirited quarter horses, I realized that dream of working with cattle on a real cattle ranch. I couldn’t have made a better choice.
The friendliness and expertise of Jerry and Tammy Rowse and members of their crew was exemplary. They welcomed me into their ranks as a member of their family, but most importantly for me, a member of the crew. I was a ranch hand, a cowboy, not only in mind and spirit but also in actuality. I was living the cowboy life of moving and checking on cattle, fences, watering holes and helping neighbors moving or sorting their cattle and all on horseback. I don’t believe there was anything to do that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy which unfortunately made the week go by way to fast. In the evenings, I especially liked watching the cowboys in the arena honing their skills with the lasso, or just sitting on the bunkhouse porch watching the sun set into the Sand Hills. It doesn’t get any better than this. I will therefore sum it up with a big thank you to Rowse’s and a promise to see you again Pards.
