“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Stay in the off seasona nd rates are very very reasonable. Great location, big clean rooms and great staff. Had a beer in the lounge and sat talkinmg and having a beer with the off duty staff as if we were old friends. Love this place. Nothing to complain about. Food in the main restaraunt is a little pricey but very good. Going back again for a weekend in two weeks.

Great rooms, warm inviting lobby, super bar and restaurant, and views of Whitefish Lake. There is a large outdoor hot pool, for soaking while it snows, a small spa facility, a swimming pool which is open in the summer, free valet parking, and bus service to the ski mountain, only 20 minutes away.

Room Tip: try to get a room in the main lodge, if possible. Otherwise, the rooms in the annex are very nice t...

Wonderful place to stay. Warm, professional, and friendly staff. Great shuttle service to and from WMR. Our room was perfect. Very comfortable with a great fireplace. Breakfasts were excellent and plenty of fun in the lounge. Hot tub was very nice. Would love to visit in the summer as well. I highly recommend the Lodge if you're going to Whitefish!

We stayed at the lodge over our spring break in a queen lofted suite. Our large group also had rooms in the condo area, and Viking lodge. Their queen lofted suite was amazing - a beautiful room, lots of space for skis and gear, a dining area, with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, big queen sleeper downstairs. The upper loft was situated such that it still felt quite private, with its own bath. The entire lodge feels authentic, comfortable, and perfectly appointed. All the rooms, including the standard rooms in the Viking lodge, are oversized and very comfortable with fireplace and amazing bathrooms. We added on a ski/stay package for lift tickets and breakfast. We expected just a simple breakfast with our vouchers, but the dining room break fast entrees were amazing - had their smoked trout benedict about three times! They also served an incredible seafood buffet for just $10 one of the evenings in the bar, with copious jumbo shrimp and crab legs. We made thorough use of their transport services, to and from Amtrak, town and the ski hills. They were perfectly accomodating. The town is wonderfully quaint, and felt very safe even for the teen girls to venture to on their own via hotel shuttle. Every member of the staff was helpful and very friendly. Staying here was a terrific experience!!

Room Tip: Every room is oversized and gorgeous. The queen lofted suite was an excellent value with tons of sp...

My husband and I stayed here four nights in mid-March. Lovely, lodge-y setting, great service, friendly staff. We flew into Kalispell and wanted to avoid renting a car -- the Lodge will pick you up from the airport and also has a shuttle service to the mountain and an evening shuttle service to Whitefish which makes going out to dinner really easy. Our room on the third floor was large and comfortable, with a gas fireplace. Great view of the lake, too. There is a scalding hot spa on the property which felt great after a cold day skiing. Access to the spa is easy; there are complementary robes, and it is a short walk down the hall (you don't have to go dripping through the lobby on the way back!) We got a package that included a generous breakfast and lift tickets and had three great days on the mountain. Best of all, the hotel and the mountain were not crowded; surprising for this time of year.

Room Tip: Lakeview room was awesome!

It starts at the entrance, Valet Parking gets you quickly in the door, but if you like there is a outside fireplace to quickly warm up. The atmosphere is also very nice with a upscale lodge decor. The staff at check in was very friendly. The chairs around the large fireplace inside make it very comfortable to sit and relax after a day skiing or if you just wanted to sit and talk. We stayed in the Flathead Suite for the night and could not be happier. Full Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Copper Sinks, and Slate Shower along with an amazing view of Whitefish Lake made it an very very nice experience. I would estimate the suite to be close to 1,700 sq feet or even larger. It feels like you are in your very own cabin. In the morning we enjoyed the Spa which is on the base floor. The staff at the Spa were all very nice, and the massage was relaxing. The only issue we had is that it snowed overnight and they started snow plowing at 7am in the morning, while this typically would not be a problem, I would have preferred to sleep in then listen to a snow plow for over an hour. Overall I would highly recommend staying in the hotel.

We stayed at the whitefish lodge for 6 nights at the start of March 2013 in a standard view studio suite. This was an excellent room and the whole experience staying there was great. We will definitely be back again. I would highly recommend the Whitefish Lodge.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the lake. The view is worth it
