My husband and I have stayed at the Lodge for the past 5 summers. We have always had a great experience until this year. We had a 2 bedroom condo that was NOT up to the standards that I would expect from WFLL especially for the price they were asking. The carpets were filthy, no TV in the living room, and the housekeeping left something to be desired. No garbage can in the kitchen, and when we asked for one, we received a bathroom size receptacle. We ran out of TP twice while we were there. Housekeeping was great about taking our dirty towels, but left us without clean ones! I believe we had to place at least 4 calls to housekeeping to request items that are standard at even a Super 8! Plus when the requests were made, they treated us like we were being unreasonable. I wrote a respectful letter when I returned home about our experience, but have yet to receive a reply - not very classy in my opinion. Next summer we will be staying at Grouse Mountain Lodge.

Just returned from The Lodge at Whitefish Lake.

This resort is perfect! Great location, wonderful views. WE LOVED IT!

We spent the majority of our time on the lake or at the pool... which was beautiful!

One thing to note: If you bring your own boat, as we did, the resort is only alloted 3 overnight boat slips. There is nothing on the website that advises you to make advance reservations for a slip BUT DO... we had to pull our boat out every evening and park it at local business.

Also: Skip the spa...

Just completed a 4 night stay at the lodge. Had a lake front room with 2 queen beds. Beautiful view of the lake. We were just above the outdoor eating area, but didn't notice the noise after going to bed, except the next to the last morning we were there, they were erecting a big tent/canopy for a function and the jack hammer was going at 8:30 in the morning! I grew up in Whitefish and have been away for about 40 years. What a change. We enjoyed the boat and wave runner rentals. Only ate lunch at the lodge restaurant. It was OK. Breakfast choices were very limited. A nice breakfast would be a plus for me. We will definitely stay at the lodge when we return to Whitefish. I would like to see some bar stools in the room to allow sitting at the kitchen bar.

My husband and I just got back from The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. WE LOVED IT!! Our experience does come from being upgraded to the Presidential suite.... no complaints there!

It was very nice and modern but also very rustic. The hardwood floors are real hardwood floors as well as granit counter tops.

I have no complaints except the food at the restaurant which was too pricey and not very good. If you go to whitefish be sure to go to the Whitefish Country Club Restaurant. It's the best!!! Located north on 93.

Good hotel, very nice and large rooms, new furniture, huge bathroom with both shower and tub.
But it is very noisy, because of noise from restaurant and bar which makes a big echo in the big lobby.
Breakfast is also a disaster for such an hotel.

Stayed three nights in a beautiful lakefront corner room (Room 231) that was huge with an oversized bathroom. The room had lots of windows that opened and glass doors on both the west and north sides leading out to balconies with beautiful views of the lake on one side and mountains on the other. It was like having the outdoors inside the room. The room had very high ceilings, and the dark wood trim and furnishings were gorgeous. The bed and pillows were so comfortable with luxurious linens, too. The chairs were comfortable as well and the gas fireplace added a lot to the ambience. All of the staff (desk, concierge, housekeeping, bellman) were extremely helpful and accommodating with all our requests. For our tastes, this lodge was the most luxurious, comfortable hotel we've ever stayed at. The room had great lighting and a lot of it. It had a bar area with sink, bar stools, cupboards, and refrigerator. The bathroom had two sinks with separate mirrors, a soaking tub, shower, and the fixtures were extra nice.

This is truly an upscale property. The lobby and common areas are awesome, and the restaurant where we enjoyed two delicious dinners is excellent. We plan to stay at this lodge again--maybe next time in September.

  • Liked — The corner room with awesome views of the lake and the mountains
  • Disliked — Nothing
  • Tips/Secrets — Ask for a corner room with lakefront view--it's well worth the extra cost.

Me and my wife stayed at this hotel during our trip to the Canadian Rockies. We checked in for our 2 night stay and we were given a room that was completely different from the one on the website. I went down to talk to the manager and he told me that when I booked the hotel it wasnt built yet, so the website was not correct at the time.
Well, although the room decor was very nice, when we got ready to go to bed we noticed that it sounded like the people in the next room were in the same room with us due to a door connecting the 2 rooms. Again i went down to talk to the manager and he said that the only way he could give me anther room without a connecting room was for me to pay some more money. That did not make me happy. They need to focus on customer service a little more!
During our 2 nights of listening to our neighbors conversations and baby crying we did not get any sleep and was very dissapointed with this hotel, so make sure if you stay here to tell them you dont want any connecting rooms!!
