“Service With A Smile”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2009

I was in West Yellowstone last weekend and was very impressed with the service the entire staff offered. I work at a Marriott property in Salt Lake and we do a good job, but the friendliness, knowledge and how genuinely eager to help type of people the employee really impressed me. The room was very clean and no different than any other hotel. Nice breakfast and I loved the hot tub after a long day in the park………MD

This , next to Yellowstone was the highlight of our trip. We finally found a family run bussiness with that "western Hospitality" you hear about. Took one of thier bus tours and wont see a park any other way now. We are planning a winter trip with the same company, thay take out the worry, really know what they are doing!

Every time my family & I visit West Yellowstone we prefer to stay at the Brandin Iron. It's convenient location to the towns attractions. The hot tubs make a nice end to a long day of playing and the hot continental breakfast they have to start our day. Definitely the highlights to our visit per my kids. I enjoy knowing the price is reasonable & the rooms are always exceptionally clean. I have suggested this location to many friends & they've enjoyed there stay. I will definitely stay here again for my future visits.

We visited the park and decided to stay in West Yellowstone. The motel we chose was comfortable and clean. The hot tub was nice too. The people there were courteous and helpful. We had a hot breakfast and was good food. We will stay at this motel next time we are in the area.

I am sitting at the guest computer in the motel lobby (nice touch) to write this review. We had such a great time here. The rooms are spacious and clean. The front desk clerks were all nice, even at 2:00 AM - haha. Walking distance to the bars, good thing because there is no taxi service here. I highly recommend this motel.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Brandin’ Iron Inn in West Yellowstone. I made a lot of calls to hotels, motels, and other lodging facilities in West Yellowstone, but when I called the Brandin’ Iron Inn, Jeremy had such a great personality, that I booked our reservation with him. When we got to West Yellowstone we checked into the motel right away. The front desk staff was wonderful, and gave us some tips on how to enjoy our time in Yellowstone and West Yellowstone.
The motel told us that the best way to see the park for the first time was on a bus tour, so we made a reservation with Buffalo Bus Touring Company in West Yellowstone. When Brad picked us up at the motel the next morning, we could tell we were in for an exciting day in Yellowstone. His enthusiasm for Yellowstone was apparent immediately, and their buses were amazing, with big windows and thank goodness for the air conditioner. We took the lower loop tour and saw elk, bison (not buffalo - ha-ha), a bear over by Yellowstone Lake Hotel, Old Faithful and the Old Faithful Inn was a pretty cool hotel (over 100 years old!). We had lunch at the Old Faithful Lodge (cafeteria style restaurant). The whole time Brad was explaining what we were seeing. What a wonderful education! We were so happy that the motel suggested this tour. When we got back to West Yellowstone, the bus dropped us off at the motel. What a great first day!
Since the motel front desk gave such a great recommendation for the tour, we went back and asked for a restaurant. They sent us to the Timberline Café. What a great meal. The special for the evening was Southwestern Meatloaf, and my wife had the vegetarian lasagna. It was a great meal. Dessert was even better. Homemade pie! The Apple-Blueberry was amazing! The folks at the Timberline were all great! What a wonderful experience. After dinner we wandered around West Yellowstone, and purchased the normal tourist souvenirs, and Yellowstone shirts. Then it was back to motel for a good night sleep, and dreams of what our next day in Yellowstone might bring.
The next morning we ate breakfast at the motel. It was a surprisingly great hot breakfast. Not restaurant food, but they did have biscuits & gravy, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, danishes, and omelets. Not bad for free breakfast at a motel. We ate early so we could avoid the morning breakfast rush, and still have plenty of variety.
Again, from the motel front desk recommendation, we got into Yellowstone early (7:30 AM), and drove up to the Lamar Valley to try and spot wolves. Along the way we stopped at the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River. What a beautiful sight first thing in the morning! The sunlight accentuated the Yellowstone River beautifully. After that we continued over to the Lamar Valley. We got to there around 10:30 in the morning, and drove up and down the valley a couple times. Right when we were about to give up, we spotted some wolves coming out of the trees about 150 yards away! We were the only ones there, and watched them for about 10 minutes before they disappeared as quickly as they arrived.
As it was getting close to lunch time, we wandered up to Mammoth Hot Springs. This is about as north as you can get in Yellowstone. After an excellent lunch at the restaurant, we took a walk around. The Mammoth Hotel was pretty neat, but I understand that it is not the original historic hotel that used to be there. And the terraces were just beautiful.
We got back to West Yellowstone around dinner time, and decided to eat at the Timberline again. We got the same great service. Their steaks were just perfectly cooked, and the salad bar was nice, with homemade soups too. I decided to try the Dutch Apple Pie this time, what a good choice. The Timberline Café is a great restaurant in West Yellowstone.
We went back to the motel for our final nights’ rest. We had such a wonderful time in West Yellowstone. The front desk at the motel really helped to make our vacation better and more exciting! Thanks for everything Brandin’ Iron Inn! You’re the best motel in town!

I stayed at the Brandin Iron on Friday evening with two friends. We booked a room with three queen beds and enjoyed the spaciousness of the room. The hotel is located in downtown West Yellowstone, easily within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. When checking in, the clerk had spilled her dinner on her shirt and kept going on and on about how upset she was. We finally got our room keys and were able to move into the room. While it was clean, it wasn't tremendously comfortable. The beds were pretty hard and the pillows lacked any fluff whatsoever. The towels were pretty scratchy as well. We did visit the hot tubs and enjoyed having that amenity available, though the hot tubs close down at 10pm. The showers could use some upgraded showerheads, as the water didn't spray very gently. After a decent night of sleep, we checked out the continental breakfast and were pleased to see omelets, biscuits, pastries, cereal, etc. There are only about 6 tables in the breakfast area, so we ended up sharing a table with strangers.

All in all, not bad...but definitely not worth the $140 per night!
