“Clean and great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

We highly recommend staying at the Alpine Motel in West Yellowstone. The hotel was in a great location to Yellowstone and walking distance to restaurants and shops. It was very clean, comfortable, and well priced. The room also had a mini refrigerator. The owner was very nice and supplied us with ice, coffee, and treats. Great stay and would definately stay again!

Quite basic motel but very nice and helpful owners. You feel very welcome.
The location is very good just in the middle of town.
I would stay here again!

Stayed in the upstairs suite with a kitchen and absolutely loved it. After a day in the park we could relax and didn't have to fight the crowds at all of the restaurants in West Yellowstone. Brian (the owner) made us feel right at home like we were staying a long lost friends guest house. I would suggest anyone with kids stay in one of the 2 upstairs suites but make your reservations early.

I don't have too much to add to what others have already said. We made the two-night reservation months in advance. We had a single-queen room, the one right on the street corner. I actually think I was told when I made the reservation that we specifically wouldn't be given this room (which costs a little less) but it was fine, other than having pedestrians walk by our window all the time. Room was a little bit small but nicely decorated and extremely clean. We were told that it was one of, if not the only room in the motel with HDTV so that was nice. Owners were very friendly althoughnot always available in the office because I think they probably are the only ones taking care of the rooms. A nice gift bag of sundries and free candy, coffee, tea in the lobby. An amazing value considering what other places in town charge.

We stayed 3 nights with Brian and Patty and it was wonderful. They could not do enough for you, very kind with letting you use the phone etc. Nothing was too much trouble.
Rooms are excellent. We had the two double bed configuration. It had own ensuite with toiletries, even vitamin sachets! Everything was beautifully clean.
The room had good blockout curtains, small fridge and a window air conditioner.
There was plenty of car parking and the location is excellent, right in the heart of West Yellowstone, a small quaint little town.
The best mexican food can be had at the old bus on Canyon Street.
A clean, cheap self serve laundromat is located at 520 Madison (Swan Cleaners).
We ate breakfast daily at the Running Bear Pancake House (almost adjacent to the laundromat) and food & prices were good.
Brian and Patty also have many games available to play (eg 'Scrabble') so we enjoyed some good old family fun with these while we were there.
The Grizzly Discovery Center was also good, admission price is valid for 2 consecutive days.
We used Buffalo Tours and did the full day Lower Loop with " ol' Tim" and the Upper Loop with "Big Jay". These are highly recommended and not to be missed. I feel if we had done a self guided tour, although cheaper-we would have missed out on a lot of valuable information about the park, geology etc.
Would definitely stay here again if ever in West Yellowstone. Thanks Brian and Patty.

Room Tip: request room away from street if possible

We just visited West Yellowstone and the Alpine Motel and loved our visit! The owners were wonderful and very accomodating to us. The room was very clean and nice. We stayed in Room 5 which bordered a main street but we didn't hear any outside noise all night. We would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable stay in West Yellowstone. Alpine Motel was the 6th hotel I have stayed at in West Yellowstone and we would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful owners who run a quiet, clean place to use as a base. We were on our honeymoon and wanted to spend our $ on the trip, not sleeping. The Alpine's room was small, but the owners took great care in cleaning and all was just fine for us. We hope to return to that beautiful area and the Alpine again and again. J & L
