“Disappointing Visit”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

The afternoon I visited the Bistro for lunch was not one of their better days in the kitchen - I ordered a 1/2 burger cooked medium rare and it came out rather well done. In addition, the fresh cut french fries (which could have been awesome!) were cooked too soon then apparently microwaved (!?!!) so became hard and barely edible. I should simply have sent it all back to the kitchen, but I didn't want to wait another 20 or 30 minutes (and the place was not busy that afternoon, either!). The service was decent but didn't compensate for a poor meal.

“Just average, nothing more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

We had a diner at Serenity Bistro. The salmon was just ok, but ravioli was overcooked and greasy. But the service was very nice.

“So so, not great.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

This is a very small place in the heart of town. We were told that the food was really great. We waited in line for about 25 minutes as the place (about 10 tables plus or minus) was full. The service wasn't great, took a while to get waited on once we were seated. My husband and daughter ordered a chicken dish. My husband's was dry and tough. I ordered the butternit squash ravioli which was quite tasty. However, for some strange reason, I broke out in hives about a half hour after leaving the restaurant. Next time I'll go to McDonalds. Forget trying to do "fine dining" in West Yellowstone. Just not worth the money.

“Very good, but not great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

We had the special of the day, a pan-seared steelhead trout, and learned in the process that rainbow trout and steelhead trout are the same species in the salmon family — the rainbow being the fresh water-only immature version and the steelhead being the 2-3 year sea-run version that has returned to local rivers for spawning. Both are delicious. This restaurant is a bit on the pricy side for West Yellowstone and not as spectacular as the trout we had down in Jackson, but we enjoyed our meal nonetheless.

“Average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

This restaurant was recommended by the motel we’re staying at and it also got good reviews. It’s a small upscale restaurant on the main road. There is no dress code and it’s very casual. We went there without reservation and were told it’d be a 20 minutes wait. They will call us when a table is ready. We went down the street to do some browsing, and we were called in 20 minutes. Service was good and the waiters know their menu and provided good recommendation. The food came out without long wait and they look good. But the taste didn’t live up to its upscale price. Our dishes were one salmon and one steak, and they had exactly the same sides. The salmon has a sweet spicy sauce that taste like it came from an Asian sweet spicy sauce battle, nothing special.
