We decided at the last minute to go to Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks for Labor Day weekend & started pricing lodging three days before. There wasn't anything in West Yellowstone for under $150, until my husband happened to find a website listing the Golden West Motel. He called & they offered a room for $85 while I was furiously trying to check the ratings on Tripadvisor. The ratings held up. PROS: We arrived at 11 AM & the room was ready & Michele let us check-in. All amenities including toothpaste were waiting for us in the room. The room was clean. Location is a few blocks away from the main downtown, so not a lot of traffic. CONS: The room was small but cozy. The walls are thin, & we could hear the ladies next door talking. We would stay here again.
