After a long hot week in Yellowstone we decided to stop by the caverns on the way back to Canada after hearing about it from a friend. Although we were all hot and exhausted we took the kids, ages 12 and 14, on the tour. I wasn't really sure if I was up to a two hour tour as we still had many hours of driving left in the day....but I am glad we did it! The kids energy level picked up as soon as we entered the cool temperature of the cave. The guide was funny and friendly and we learned a lot from her. It is absolutely worth the price of admission. The hike up to the cavern is not too difficult as long as you bring plenty of water and wear good shoes. As soon as you enter the cavern the cool temperature is a welcome relief and the two hours flys by in no time!
