“Great, homemade food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

The pizza is world-class, as are the calzones. The dining room is comfortable and very clean, and has a great lodge feel. It also overlooks the forest valley.

“BEST PIZZA and CALZONES EVER”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

Great service by family and truly the best pizza and calzones we've ever had! Heard the steaks are phenomenal too but did not have a chance to try them. PLEASE REMEMBER----you will need to let them know at least 1/2 hour in advance (if not sooner), not only WHEN you'll be eating but WHAT you'll be eating. Due to limited number of guests and the sporadic number, they don't have a whole lot ready to go.

“The food was great and so was the service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

I had friends visit from out of town to go skiing and the hot springs was the closest lodging and restaurant so it was very convenient. The food was exactly as we ordered it and because we ordered ahead, it was ready when we were done swimming. It was a great few days. The lodging and swimming and meals were perfect.

“5 Star Pizzas and Steaks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2011

I'm so glad I stopped here. My friends and I had a fabulous time. They are open for limited hours but it is worth the effort to squeeze it into your schedule. The pizza is thin and flavorful and the steaks are thick and juicy. They want you to pre-order, which is a little wierd, but it is to your advantage. They are preparing food to order. It's not like when you're in town and people walk in off of the street regularly and places are ready for customers. This place is at the end of the Montana line and mostly only folks who are lodging eat there so they appreciate the heads up. Call ahead, or just order when you get there and be prepared for a little wait. Killing time in the pool is a pretty good option, or soaking in the hot tub. How many restaurants offer that opportunity? Is six stars possible?

“Call ahead because the hours vary by season due to their location- 7 days a week in the summer, weekends only from Labor Day til”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2011

They have always had awesome steaks (3 different cuts/sizes) but now they have incredible fresh dough, thin crust pizzas too! They also have chicken and fish and shrimp. The owners do the cooking, so you know they are concerned about quality. The best thing to do is order ahead to give preparation time then get in the pool and hot tub to relax, but be aware that the last dinner seating may be as early as 7:30. There is beer and a full bar and a wine list with variety and value. They also make these great little dark chocolate truffles rolled in cocoa powder which are just the right amount of sweetness after a big meal.

The dining room is rustic elegance with historic character everywhere you look. They have the old wooden pipes that used to carry the water to the pool hanging from the ceiling and a beautiful fireplace. The view out the windows is of the Bitterroot National Forest and even of wildlife if you're lucky. They close at 9pm (10pm on Fri and Sat in the summer) so don't expect to see a happening nightlife. It's more of a family environment. If you're around in the morning, they open at 8am for breakfast and the hot spring pool. The omelets are overstuffed and the huckleberry pancakes are devine. They have really good coffee and a large tea selection.
