We had late night snacks and a wonderful breakfast. Both were excellent. Great home made meals, pies and cakes!. Not to be missed.

“Very sweet waiter, great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

We'd been out since 6:00 am exploring the Lamar Valley. Stopped at this cute little restaurant for breakfast around 9:30 am. Our waiter was young, charming, very efficient and friendly. We had eggs over easy (cooked perfectly), delicious hash browns and 3 huge pieces of bacon. Then we split a piece of the homemade pumpkin bread. Wow! Everything was delicious and served very quickly. It's a bit dark inside the cabin, so we moved outside as the sun climbed higher in the sky and enjoyed this delightful breakfast. Thank you!

“Just outside Yellowstone park, and a great place to eat before turning around.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

We had been hiking, driving, and exploring the Lamar Valley at Yellowstone, and decided we needed lunch. rather than drive back the length of the valley, we remembered seeing a plce in Silver Gate, and wondered if it might still be open. Sure enough the Log Cabin Cafe had one more week to be open before closing for the season.
This place has been around since the 1930's and after having their bison burgers we knew why. the burger and fries hit the spot. Accompanied by bottled beer we felt refreshed and ready to get back to exploring the park.

“Great little place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

We were staying in a log cabin next door to the Log Cabin cafe during a visit to Yellowstone. Although we were self catering we had a number of meals at the cafe all of which were great. Breakfasts were some of the best we had on our trip and evening meals were also good. We visited at the end of the season and also experienced the problem that some of the items on the menu were no longer available although there was still plenty to choose from. Very popular for breakfasts so if possible better to avoid 8 am - 9 am when service can be stretched.

“A diamond in the raw”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

Can not say enough good things about this little "find" in Silvergate Montana. Best food our entire 8 day trip through Yellowstone. Sits just 3 miles past Cooke City. Preparation and presentation was outstanding. Only to be outdone by the great waitress Nicole. If you miss this place it will be your loss. Steak and trout are supurb. If we ever get back, this is our number 1 stop.
