food is good, but the people that work there they talk nasty about you all the time, they do not know how to talk nice, they sit there and get drunk and talk on certain people. and that is all i have to say about that for now.

We stayed at the Grasshopper Inn this weekend and found it quaint with a rural backcountry Montana charm - loads of personality you would never find at a chain place. If you are into being lazy and pampered and can't handle no cell phone/Internet service and rustic charm, this place is not for you! The price cannot be beat ($60 per evening for 2 adults). The room was very clean with beautiful log furniture and unique art and decorative furniture. Lovely view out of each room of the scenic Pioneer Mountain range. We ate at the attached lodge restaraunt twice and the food was wonderful. Delicious prime rib and a nice selection of soup, salad bar, sandwiches, pasta and other items. There is also a beautiful old ornately carved full bar in the main lodge and the fireplace was perfect on a cold evening. We had our three children along (ages 11, 7, 5) and they had fun, enjoyed the food, and we all slept well. There is a fun game room in the basement of the lodge.

A fun, homey place. The service was excellent and the food was good.
There is no air conditioning, but it was cool enough at night with the windows open .
A fan would have been helpful to cool the room in the early evening.
The bed could have been better.

We had an enjoyable stay here, pretty decent for a small out of the way hotel. Clean rooms and pretty comfy beds. Bar and restaurant were fun, food was adequate. Staff was friendly. Certainly not a Four Seasons, but for a hotel in the middle of nowhere Montana it served its purpose. Lots to do around the area, incredibly beautiful.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms are nicer.

Excellent small hotel ran by very friendly staff. Evening meal service was warm and friendly. This was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten, hand carved in the kitchen. We stayed here and visited several hot springs in the area. (One way over priced and the other with terrible reviews.) We will be returning this winter to ski the area, and hot springs again.

Rooms are clean and tidy, not fancy. A couple have an extra twin bed, a bonus with kids.

Words cannot describe how wonderful the Grasshopper Inn is and the folks that work there. I have to say I think this is the one business that has treated me the best my whole life. My husband and I just got married and having been to the Grasshopper last year, we knew we wanted to go back, this time for our honeymoon. Well, we had car trouble on the way down there. We called to let them know and they were so kind enough to have someone wait up for us to let us in, even though it was close to 1am when we were able to get there. Everyone always was so friendly and eager to help us in any way possible. Just to show you how amazing these folks are, our water pump on our vehicle finally decided to go out on us after being there a few days and we needed help to get it fixed. The motel manager offered to give us a ride to the nearest town to get the part for the vehicle, even though she was so busy with her job. Bless her heart, she did not have to do that. Not only that, the other folks that work there and a few of the local folks chipped in and offered their tools to help us. They showed concern about us being able to get the vehicle fixed and went above and beyond their duty to lend a hand and open their heart with their kindness. Not only is this one of the most beautiful places to visit, if you have the pleasure of meeting and being around the people of Polaris, then my friend you are truly blessed. The motel is awesome all the way around: price wise, cleanliness, and of course the service. The food is amazing!! You will not go away hungry after eating here! My husband is still raving about that breakfast he had the other day! Despite our minor vehicle mishap, I would not trade staying here for the world. This place is serene, beautiful, and definitely God's country. I'm also happy to say I feel we left knowing we had made a special circle of friends that we are already looking forward to seeing and spending time with again. I was so sad to leave that beautiful place, but I'm so very lucky to have found such an enjoyable place to spend time in and folks that I will always remember and keep as my friends. Thank you all for all that you did for us! Happy 40th Anniversary Grasshopper Inn!

We were not sure what to think upon passing it heading for the Elk Horn Hot Springs. After seeing the difference in price between the two (with Elk Horn Hot Springs not even offering a shower in the room!) we knew we had to go back and see what the Grasshopper Inn was all about. We were greeted with amazing hospitality. The price was great and the room was just right. We would recommend this place in a heartbeat.
Make sure to check this place out and enjoy the amazing scenery!
