“great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

My wife and I brought the grandkids to Missoula to visit the carousel, Fort Missoula and the Smokejumper Museum. Yet the highlight was the Broadway Inn. Fantastic pool, hot tub & outdoor space. Very clean, very pleasant staff. We had a great time.

Room Tip: great access to the river train and a 20 walk or 10 minute bike ride to downtown

Dear Rick M,

Thanks for sharing your experience! One of the lesser known facts about our hotel is that we have poolside food and beverage service when the bar & grill is open. More and more we see parents relaxing over lunch in the shaded courtyard while their kids are having a ball in the pool just a few feet away.

Kind regards,

Gabe Millar

The girl at the front desk was very helpful. Other than that, this hotel is terrible. Smells very strongly of cigarettes, floors dirty, hallways dirty, rooms dirty, mattresses stained, ants in the bathroom, the list goes on. If we had not checked in late, we would have left as soon as we saw our room. Without a doubt the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, just gross.
That this hotel has a 2 1/2 star rating suggests very strongly that the star rating system is badly broken. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. A roadside rest stop would be cleaner.

Room Tip: Flee for your life

Dear Litigo,

As you can imagine, it is harder to read negative reviews than positive, but the truth of the matter is that negative reviews prompt action much more so than positive ones. As the result of feedback from you and others, we are installing new HVAC components to ensure fresh air in an area of the building where the air was stagnant. We treated two rooms at the time of your stay for ants. Ants have never been a problem in the past and there is no sign that they continue to be an issue. I welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience on the phone, please feel free to call me at (406)532-3315. I would appreciate the chance to learn more about your stay.

Kind regards,

Gabe Millar

We booked into the Inn for one night on the 20 August but we quickly decided to stay for another night, our room was really large, bright and airy. The pool and hot tub area was so nice the children enjoyed swimming outside in the fresh air there is also a shaded courtyard area beside the pool where you can sit and read a book. The young lady on the front desk was very pleasant and helpful nothing was a problem for her. The continental breakfast had the usual bakery, cereal etc but there was also a hot choice one day eggs and sausage and the next biscuits and gravy a nice large breakfast room, overall we had a great experience and would definitely come back again.

Room Tip: Ground Floor Room was quiet

My buddy and I are fishermen, we didn't get to use the pool or hot tub during our stay. We did see the staff maintaining the facility at all times of the night and day since we were up at 5AM everyday to go to one of the great fishing rivers in the area.

Deb Bigalowe(spelling) gave us great service and the house keeping was right on(fresh bathroom linings everyday.

During our stay there was an independent company shampooing the rugs in the hallways. Coffee in dining room was hot and fresh 24/7.

In the evening when we would return and enjoy an adult beverage in the court yard near the pool. I noticed that staff was there for any thing that might occur. We asked for a towel one evening and it was there within 5 mins.

If anything was negative it is the WIFI is weak and the computer in lobby was down more then it was working.

I am a fly-fisherman and this is exactly what I needed. Is it fancy or extravagant, no.
Its exactly what a traveler needs.

Frank from NY

Room Tip: WIFI is set up in the hallway every 8 or so rooms. Ask the front desk where they are in relationship...

We only stayed one night but were very happy with this hotel. With a continental breakfast and under $90 rate, you can't go wrong. We had 4 adults so my wife and daughter slept on one bed, and I asked for a cot for my son. The desk clerk thought they were out of cots but would check. 10 minutes later a cot showed up at our door. When we needed extra washrags they were also delivered promptly. I needed an iron and they had those by the front desk and were cheerily handed over. We were treated very well, the breakfast is traditional continental with cold cereal, juices, fruit, coffee, toast, yogurt and bisquits and gravy which wasn't very good in our opinion. Nice though to get a free meal for 4 included. We didn't take advantage of the pool or hot tub, but had a drink outside near the pool. The drink prices were also very reasonable for a hotel bar, and poured pretty strong. The hallway carpets could use a better cleaning but our room was clean so we didn't care. They also have a pretty good ice machine that didn't run out like in some places. All in all we thought it was a great value compared to what we paid for and got at other lodgings on this trip.

Check the mattress cover; it is absolutely the dirtiest we have every experienced; "everything" was on it, We called the front desk who were very nice & "upgraded" to a business class room; same room, cleaner & newer bedding, but, chair was stained so we couldn't use it.
I don't blame the staff, it is probably a management/owner issue. This hotel has seen better times; the carpets extremely dirty, the entire place needs painting, If we weren't so tired, we would have moved on; but, we certainly did not take our shoes off! OH and the shower head, it squirted directly across to the wall, you had to stand on the far end of the tub & sort of stretch to get wet.

Room Tip: Check the mattress pads before you accept your room

One of the best rates in town and a lovely, large room!! Pool, fitness, casino and sports bar. The morning continental breakfast was very nice! It was great for those who follow Weight Watchers as well as for someone with an appetite! My only suggestion.....get the stains out of the carpet in the room hallways. First impressions matter!
