“Clean and good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Location was great, close by shopping mall and restaurant. Room was very clean and quite with free wifi internet. Price was very reasonable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great with wonderful pancake machine. Our family enjoyed stay here and would be back.

We arrived after midnight at the Missoula airport, but that was no problem for the cheerful young woman who picked us up in the hotel van. Friendly staff, good breakfast, and a great price for a quiet room that's clean as a whistle... Highly recommended!

We liked the location while visiting family that live near the university, though it is a little less convenient to the interstate. The plus side of that is that it is less busy and not jammed to capacity like the taller, newer places near I-90. Rooms were clean and nice, a little dated looking, but not worn out. The tub did make weird creaking noises when you stepped in as noted in another review, but the shower was strong and hot, so no worries. Staff at the desk were pleasant and the breakfast was decent. No pool for the kids, which is a downside, but Splash Montana is nearby if you're there in the summer. In short, not a hotel you will remember staying at in a couple years, but certainly nothing wrong with this place either. A good value.

This is probably the 5th or 6th time I've stayed here. It never disappoints. Before retiring, I traveled all over US and Canada so had lots of hotel experiences. The price is amazing given how well appointed this place is, everything is kept really clean, things don't look "tired" or "worn", no complaints about maintenance. The breakfast is generous, lots of choices. Most of all, the staff has ALWAYS been some of the most personable I have met. Most of my visits are now a combination of medical and personal business. The courtesy van takes me for my eye exams so I don't have to navigate traffic with dilated eyes. What a good deal for me and the other drivers on the road!!! You can't go wrong!

This is a great place to stay if you want to do some fly fishing on Rock Creek, and want to hit the art museum and Big Dipper during your stay. The hotel is clean and a deal for the price. The only draw back is a small one- the internet connection is a bit slow, but if you are there for the fishing and all that Montana has to offer the internet connection is a long way down on my list. I will be visiting the Val-U Inn again!

Would have stayed with family but there wasn't room! Since the "event" was being with family we were primarily looking for lodging. We liked the location, the price was right, and the room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Plan to stay here next time we visit family.

I chose Val-U-Inn to get away from the Reserve Street traffic. The people here are so helpful and their breakfast offers protein and grain-based foods. The room I had included a very noisy acrylic shower enclosure which was a turn off, but everything else was fine and reflected the good pricing. But the deal breaker was found at 5 AM when I discovered there wasn't a coffee pot. Forced to get ready without a cup of caffeine, I was a little perturbed when I checked with the front desk to find out what happened to my coffee setup. The told me they don't offer coffee pots in their rooms. WHAT?! In a world of latte's and $15 beans, Starbucks, Jitters, Beaneries, what would possess a hotel to chose not to include a coffee setup? I've seen this at the Bellagio and on cruise ships but they offer room service. I had a very very long day ahead of me and this was not acceptable. I thought about buying a coffee setup but why spend more? I chose to check out. I wonder how many patrons shorten their stay rather than do without their in-room coffee?

Room Tip: Either bring your own coffee setup or bring tea bags.
