This looks like a corner cafe from the outside, and even on the inside, but the Mexican food is world-class. We travel extensively, often to Mexico, and this food can hold it's own. The decor and atmosphere is okay, simple and adequate, nothing to write home about, but the food is excellent. I've been twice and I had the shrimp both times (and would order it again). My husband had the special -- which is whatever the chef is in the mood to make that night, with the spicy heat of your choice -- and it was superb both times. If you're in luck, the owner (Mabel, pronounced Mah-Belle) will be hosting and can suggest something. Desserts are good, also, but very rich so you'll want to share one with 2 or 4 people. This restaurant does NOT serve alcohol, beer or wine, but you can BYOB.
