“Nice but pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

We stayed here the night before heading into Glacier National Park to camp. It was a little expensive but since we did not have many options we payed the price. The hotel was nice. Rooms were set up nicely and the hotel had the light smokey smell to it which fit in with the outdoors. It was connected to a small shopping plaza too. The free breakfast was very nice too, they even had a cook making omelets to order. They did not have guest laundry, but there was a laundry mat about 1/4 of a mile away. The guy that checked us in was very nice and helpful. Nice hotel but we wish it wasn't so expensive.

We reached the hotel at 2pm and were given a room that smelled like smoke..The room was on the first floor right next to the mall. In other words it was like living on the street. Any car that passes through, you would know. We asked to be moved to another room and they made us wait for an hour before any room was available. This room was a little better to the first one but was cheap and had stains on the carpet all over. The bathroom was tiny. The distance from the pot to the wash basin counter is very close and you would have to close the door to use the wash basin. The light in the shower was very poor and the tub was not clean either. In other words, it was super cheap and had Motel 8 written all over it - not worth the price of $280/night. There is Hampton Inn, Hilton , Holiday Inn Express (Kalispell) which was way way better. We did not have a choice as those were booked and we got burnt with Red Lion (our first and last stay at any Red Lion). I would recommend people to stay in Whitefish (Best Western), a quaint neat town unlike Kalispell. The breakfast was alright but we have had way better. The second day they replaced the plates with plastic/paper plates and plastic spoons. I do not know why.
Check the pictures I uploaded to get an idea of this cheap room/hotel. Never stay here.

Being able to reserve a nice quiet room, the same night these guys had a bus tour surprised me. I was last minute, and still received a reasonable rate, comfortable room, and more than expected for a complimentary breakfast buffet. Close to lots of dining options, and walking distance to the VFW Post. All I needed.

This could've been a disaster, but Katrina (at the check-in counter) was great. We booked this hotel with ***** (an Expedia type, but not so well known). The place was booked, and when we got there, we found out that **** did nothing but charge us, and didn't make a res., with the hotel. After trying, she found out that it was the other booking agencies fault. She made a quick call, corrected the problem, and we stayed here. Great thing for us.
Red Lion is not a cheap place, but it is VERY nice for a motel. Or for a Hotel. Great location and room too..
But every nice place has some trouble. Ours was having to use the 'key' repeatedly to open the door. It worked fine at times and then wouldn't work at all.
Other than that, which could've, but wasn't a big problem, this place is a step or two above the rest.

It is with great pleasure to see that our front desk associates are going above and beyond to assist in ensuring your reservations and accommodations are straightened out. Although there are many online third party booking agencies be careful with using those options as sometimes hotels cannot assist in correcting changes or errors done by online companies. Keep in mind for future bookings our direct website offers competitive rates and great packages year round.

Well this place was a waste! Only thing good was the courtyard! My lady and I were treated with disrespect by the front desk staff. The only employees that were good were the army of cleaning ladies, y'all did a good job keepin it lookin good. The front desk folks and the khaki shirt wearing folks need to work on people skills. The elevator was broke the whole first day and than really really clunky when it was "fixed". The soda and ice machine was not workin on our floor. The breakfast was not what one would expect, cold greasy bacon stale bread not stocked cabinets. For the price you expect more, allot more.

For the price of this hotel, we were not all impressed. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, but was just a plain room -- bed, chair, TV (no DVD player), fridge and microwave and.the courtyard was nice. Upon arrival front desk staff was friendly, but it ended after check-in. Was to receive a gift card for making reservations under the Glacier Park package and it was not provided at check-in, was told it could be picked up anytime the next day. When I went back the next day, was told had to wait for a supervisor to come in and to check back later, checked back later and told the same thing. They finally called when it was ready and I could pick it up. But during each of these times they staff was unfriendly and not helpful. Requested express checkout and that was not prepared and ready upon checking out. Elevator was broke entire first day, ice machine and pop machine on third floor were not working.
Overall for $200 a night, just not worth it. Will stay somewhere else the next time we are in town.
