4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2011

I stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn from Aug. 16-20, 2011 while I was helping a colleague man a booth at the Northwest Montana Fair, which is about a 7-minute drive from this hotel. I heartily agree with prior comments about the outstanding breakfast offered at the Great American Grill on site. It does cost extra (unless you have a breakfast included rate) -- $10.95 for anything; $6.95 for lighter fare. I had the full breakfast every morning as I found the fresh air to be an appetite stimulant! The chef told me the reason that most places do not serve crisp bacon is that people will eat less of it! His bacon is wonderfully crisp, and his omelettes are delicious! There was a huge variety of offerings from waffles to yogurt to eggs and cereals. Nancy, the breakfast server, was always genuinely cheerful and upbeat. I ate dinner in the adjacent Blue Canyon restaurant on Prime Rib special night ($27 for 12 oz., including a free dessert and salad) and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Parking is free.

The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. I could not understand why I was unable to print my airline boarding pass in the Business Center (open 24 hours with key card), so the receptionist came right away and discovered that rather than needing a missing code, the printer simply needed paper re-stocking. There is free Internet access and remote printing available in one's room. There is also a fitness center, which I did use, and a swimming pool, which I did not use as there were exuberant children occupying it the only time I might have used it. Many people stay here who visit Glacier National Park (1/2 hour drive) for its outstanding scenery & opportunities.

I did have a problem with a foul odor in my bathroom, which the maintenance man did work on while I was there. I could not change rooms because the hotel was sold out. I kept my bathroom door closed to ameliorate the smell. Since I am a long-standing member of the Hilton Hhonors program and stay at many Hilton properties, I decided to write to the General Manager. Not only did he reply in less than 24 hours with a no-excuses apology, he assured me that the problem either had been or would be rectified now, and made a reasonable offer to resolve the situation. I appreciate managers who follow through and are eager to ensure that their guests have the kind of experiences that have been described in many of the prior reviews of this property. I would plan to stay here again if I came to Kalispell.

It's a Hilton property so you expect a certain level - and it hits it dead on. The lobby is beautiful in a "Montana Chic" sort of way. Rooms are large and clean, and well appointed. On-site restaurant and lounge are full of road-warriors enjoying themselves. There is convention space as well. Of course they fill up and in the summer, raise their rates, but it's always my first choice when returning to Kalispell. Free parking and easy to find.

Room Tip: Right on an airstrip so if you're sensitive to the noise, ask for a front room.

As Canadians from Calgary we like to take a trip to Kalispell Mt each summer. We have picked many different hotels over a 5yr peroid . This was the first time we stayed at the Hilton. The room was clean and spacious as rooms go, had a flat screen , cable , fridge and desk. We had a room at the rear so it was very quite. Lots of room for parking. Location wise you are close to everything within 5miles. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was clean with an outdoor patio. A second patio was located at the front of the lobby. The attached Restaurant served excellent meals. But for ribs go to the shopping strip on 93 to famous Daves. Costco and many other outlet stores are in the same area. The movie theatre is located here as well. John & Donna Calgary Ab

We stayed 4 nights at the Garden Inn. The rooms, staff, and service were outstanding. We loved the breakfast each morning. Breakfast was an outstanding buffet style and made-to-order from eggs any style to blueberry pancakes by a chef. I would highly recommend this hotel. We knew it was a 40 minute drive to Glacier Park but it was well worth the drive to stay at the Garden Inn.

Garden Inns are typically nice and this location is no exception. Compared to other hotels that I've stayed at in Kalispell, this is one of the best.
