“Great Old - fashioned soda fountain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2011

We stopped by here on our visit to Helena and were planning to get a soda to take out. An extremely nice young man encouraged us to stay and sit, and we were glad we did. This soda fountain has ice cream sodas, phosphates, sundaes and milkshakes. Our family of four had an assortment, all of which were delicious. We played some songs on the jukebox as well, which was fun. We liked it here so much that we returned the next day for another afternoon snack - just as good as the first day. They also serve hot dogs and chili.
This should be listed as a restaurant rather than a shop - although there was some candy in the front which we did not try.

“Chocolate never tasted so good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2011

As we drooled over all the options, we were delighted with the service and the assortment we got in the 1-pound box!

“We went here because of the great...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2010

We went here because of the great reviews. This candy is TERRIBLE. We asked for a one lb box of mixed chocolates and it was dried out and just terrible probably because they gave us a box that was sitting on the counter. It was $16 and horrible. My sister said Russell Stover's was better and she's right. If this is the BEST chocolate in Montana I need to move here and open a candy company.

“Our favorite place in Helena.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2010

The Parrot is a great place to have a light lunch or dinner in Helena. My twelve year old says the atmosphere is really great and the building is the way it was built a long time ago. Besides being a great place to eat, it also has the best chocolate you will find in a hundred mile radius.

My husband says that the chicken tamales were good but it's a poor substitute for the turkey tamale that they used to make back in the day. He wishes they would bring those back. He loves the high shelf that encircles the entire space with all of the knick-knacks and chotchkes. The old original bathrooms are spotless. The booths are so much fun to sit it. Love the fruit drinks and, of course, the CANDY.

“A Taste of History!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2010

They only serve hot dogs, ice creams and sodas, but do so in the same was as they have for the last 80 years, so it is all about the experience and history rather than the menu and food quality. That said, the ice creams and sauces all made on site were excellent and the staff were very friendly.
