“Nice Downtown Area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

The area is very lively and the shops are worth the visit. Traffic is not bad and this is on the way to the hiking trails to Mt. Helena.

“Interesting shopping”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

If you want the chain stores you can find in any town, you'll have to go elsewhere in Helena. Last Chance Gulch is a winding street that follows the gulch where four placer miners struck it big, leading to a rush of people who wanted gold and ended up creating Helena in the process.

Lots of interesting businesses line LCGulch, all housed in historical buildings. Check out Aunt Bonnie's used bookstore, where locals bring in their used books. Decent prices on hard to find reading. There's a stained glass store on lower Last Chance Gulch and a ceramics studio farther up. There's a great shoe and clothing store, Sole Sisters.

Lots of great eateries here. Further up is the walking mall with a quilt shop and Made in Montana gift shop, the library, a park, etc. Too much to mention. You just have to go visit it.

“Interesting site”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

We enjoyed walking in the pedestrian-only section of Last Chance Gulch. Unfortunately, both businesses we visited had sub-par to poor customer service.

“FUN, FUN, FUN!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

We had the chance last year and this year to walk around the Last Chance Gulch area. It is a quaint but nice shopping area with interesting shops. Some of the prices are a little steep but most are within a travelers' budget. I very much enjoyed the Parrott Ice Cream Shop, the Creperie and the Ghost Art Gallery, which has locally made jewelry.

“Something for everyone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

Last Chance Gulch and the walking mall has something for everyone. Lots of nice little specialty shops, restaurants and bars. It was nice to have no motorized traffic and benches for resting. We could have spent hours there.
