This was a fine place to stay overnight, a spic and span, very comfortable old-style motel with interesting touches from the 1960s (but well-maintained) and friendly people running it. I liked the folks there right away. Our room was nicely furnished, very clean, and the bathroom sparkled. It seemed newly renovated. There was a very nice dressing room adjacent with an extra sink and lots of counter space. Wi-Fi was fast. TV was a decent flat-screen.
We also enjoyed the patio-like common area in front of the office. While covered, technically being "in" the building, it had two wide open entries from the parking lot, letting the air and the sun stream in, and it was furnished neatly with patio tables and chairs, plus some plants to make it look even more inviting. This space was a good spot to enjoy the breakfast, included in the price of the room, which was modest, making this a very good value.
Best of all was the location of the motel, right by the center of downtown Glasgow, so that we could easily walk to all the shops and eateries, which were quite pleasant. There's a good deli right on the main drag that has, among other tasty things, home made chocolates. There are several good places for dinner right nearby, so there is no need to drive. We walked about 4 blocks to the Durum Restaurant and Bar, back on US Rt. 2, for Wednesday night's prime rib special, which was wonderful and reasonably priced for such high quality locally grown beef.
This is a good place to stop when crossing Montana on US Rt. 2, so why settle for a chain-type motel far away from everything when you can be comfortable and nearer to shops and restaurants plus pay less?
