“ENJOYED GARDINER, MONTANA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

The Comfort Inn Motel In Gardiner Was An Excellent Choice For A Place To Stay On Our Visit To The Park. Clean Room And Friendly Workers. I Was Very Pleased With The Pricing. Only 2-Minutes From The North Entrance To YELLOWSTONE PARK. If Ever In This Area Aagain I Will Stay Here.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The bathroom of our non-smoking room smelled like cigarettes (we had to keep the fan on). The handle on the toilet was hanging on by a thread when we first got into the room, and eventually broke off entirely. Our view was soneone's deck ( we could look right into their apartment) so we kept our shades closed at all times. Enjoyed Gardiner but find somewhere else to stay.

The hotel was nice and very simple. Breakfast was set up a little different then most hotels but it was good. the hotel has a resturant in side and if u are staying at the hotel you get 10% off your meal.

when you read what the hotel has posted about a mountain view its not looking at the pretty white snow caped rockey mountains. there are very few resturants in the area so look at what the area has to offer.

I would recmond a king room because the bathroom is alot bigger. The hotel room has very little in it pretty much your bathroom, bed tv, lap, and a table and we had a fridge in our room. the room is very rustic but clean we paid about 147 for our room but if you stay in a choice hotel and sign up for the choice hotel perks which is free u will earn fre stuff.

Gardiner offers a more rustic atmosphere than West Yellowstone and so hotels as well as dinning choices are more limited. Some restaurants close before 10:00 PM so plan ahead if you will be staying in the park into the evening. The hotel is nothing to write home about but offers clean rooms (if a bit dated) and is close to the North entrance to the park. The distance to the Upper Geyser basin is significantly more than from West Yellowstone but on the other hand Mammoth is "next door" offering opportunities to enjoy the terraces early in the morning.

After leaving Yellowstone we thought we would not find much. This hotel was awesome. The room was clean, comfortable and decorated with a local emphasis. We ate at the restaurant at the hotel and had the best service and meal since we left Florida. Our server was great, wish I could remember his name. He was well versed on the menu and really knowledgeable about local beer. We are traveling with our two special needs grandkids, ages 7 and 5. Everyone here made sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was equally good. Real scrambled eggs instead of those little spongelike things you get elsewhere, sausage, potatoes, fresh rolls, and much more. Would love to spend more time here.

This was a typical old-time Comfort Inn. Icky. Pricey, spartan, bouncy beds and crummy breakfast. The restroom was clean which is a big plus for me. The sink was in the room itself, and the toilet was in a closet-like room with the shower. There are not many good hotel choices in this town. Try to stay in West Yellowstone instead.

I was informed by a local that this is the best place to stay in the area. And that may well be true. Nevertheless, while the hotel is well located, it is VERY budget oriented, meaning hard beds, spartan but clean rooms, and a breakfast consisting primarily of day old bread, powdered eggs, generic cereal, and bananas cut in half.

Next time I am in the Yellowstone area, I'll give the Travelodge a try.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We take all reviews seriously and use them to try and better our guests stay. I am, however, confused about your breakfast comment. Our breakfast consists of much more than you mentioned. Scrambled eggs, sausage, variety of pastries, english muffins, toast, 2 flavors waffles, 3 varieties of fruit, 3 varieties of cereal, oatmeal, variety of yogurts, hard boiled eggs, juice, and milk. I am sorry you missed these other items.
