“A very good hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

The location of the hotel is very good. Although we did not stay in a room with a view, it did not really matter because we did a late check-in and the views didnt matter much. The landscape sorrounding the hotel is just spectacular. There is a breakfast buffet right next to the hotel and is free for the hotel customers.

There were a few instances when I felt that things should have been done in a different way.

When we were checking out, the manager looked at our bill and she was like "I dont understand how do they even get the room at this rate?" and I was thinking, hello, I am a loyal customer of best western and I did pay quite well for the room we stayed and was no big difference than people who had rooms with a view.

The receptionist at the partner diner serving the breakfast buffet was not really a welcoming person either. There were a few visitors from a country from the east and they sat just next to us. They were really treated very bad. They were not even asked for water or any drinks because they did not wait to be seated. The receptionist just yelled at them and I can feel how embarassing those poor creatures might have felt. I wondered what would the receptionist do when she visits another country and does not know the culture there. They quickly left not knowing that the room stay expenses also included the breakfast as well.

I would just like to mention to the hotel customers from other countries that, please ignore all the stuff that these mountain people say, they may have never visited a big city yet. Just enjoy your travel in yellowstone and have a full hearted breakfast because you paid for that.

This is a great country formed on great principles and yellowstone is a jewel of the country so just concentrate on your travel plans.

Room Tip: Pick the rooms with views.

This is our 3rd year returning to Yellowstone & staying at the BW+. It's a decent hotel with all the basic amenities, but as others have noted, the rooms can be very noisy due to the guests above you and the plumbing in adjacent rooms. The very positive points in favor of this hotel are:

1. The river view rooms - great view, and the sound of the river rushing past is really soothing at night

2. Very friendly staff - Debbie the GM will bend over backwards to help make your stay a pleasant one.

3. The adjacent restaurant and the free hot buffet breakfast

4. Very soft, comfortable beds

Room Tip: Try to get a river view room, but avoid the ones on the ends which have the outside stairs attached...

I had made reservation for 2 nights which got mixed up. The staff worked hard to accommodate us which was appreciated. The view from our room was pleasing and the room was spacious and clean. The location is great for day trips into Yellowstone. Don't get a room next to the stairwell. The first night we woke to thumps as people pulled their suitcases down the stairs!

We used this hotel as our base for our two week Yellowstone Park visit. The room was clean, quiet, even though fully booked, and met our needs perfectly. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were great, friendly and concerned that we were satisfied in every way. We will be booking our next years two week stay here and will be bringing friends along. We would recommend this hotel to anyone booking a trip to Yellowstone. Also forgot to mention the great buffet breakfast included in the rate, the rate would be good for this area even if the breakfast was not included. Great pool and hot tub, laundry facilities also on site.

Room Tip: You can save some money by booking a no view room as you will only be sleeping there anyway.

Tried this Best Western for our Yellowstone Park vacation and found it to be OK though not exceptional. The adjacent restaurant was basic but the Rusty Rail Lounge was very good. Our server (Trevor) made sure we were comfortable and satisfied with drinks and Bar Meals. He lifted the ambience of the place and made our time in the Lounge comfortable.

Room Tip: Ensure you have a river or mountain view room

Rooms are basic and pretty dated but clean and comfortable. Walls are paper thin, so good luck sleeping if a bus full of tourists shows up late at night. Good breakfast in the morning. Nice and close to park entrance.

The location is excellent. The view of Yellowstone river is nice. Our room was loud- we could hear the people above us getting up at 5am! Parking can be an issue. The breakfast buffet had disgustingly dirty cutlery, coffee mugs and plates with food still on them all. You may not notice since the lighting is not great. Overall on ok stay.
