“Outstanding stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

My wife and I stayed only one night at this property, but it couldn't have been any better.

We were upgraded from our king room to a 1BR suite, complete with DirecTV, free WiFi, a super-comfortable King bed, and a parade of deer and elk moving throughout the property. There was a full refrigerator, range, and microwave in the kitchen area. Plumbing fixtures and decor were way above what we would expect for a room in this price range. The office also had free DVDs to borrow during our stay.

All this came with great customer services. The owner walked us to our room and showed us around, and even provided some beach towels so we could visit "The Boiling River" just inside the park entrance.

Gardiner is a small gateway town, but there are several restaurants and a full service grocery store. These amenities combined with a location only 10 minutes from Mammoth Hot Springs make Yellowstone Gateway Inn a worthy alternative to fighting for a reservation (and paying park prices) for lodging in the park. Great place to stay.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to a 1BR suite with a sleeper sofa, and it would make for great accomodations for a...

Had never booked a hotel over the internet before and we were all pleasantly surprised by the room. Our family of 3 adults and 4 teenagers stayed 4 days/nites. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel room had everything one would need and more. Having the kitchen was a big plus for our budget and had all the necessities. The week we arrived a new BBQ grill was added. Michael and his staff were very friendly and helpful. The location to the park enterance was very convenient. This was the best hotel we stayed at during our 9 day trip.

Stayed here 3 nights exploring the north end of the park (Mammoth hot springs, Lamar Valley, Roosevelt area) before staying in the Old Faithful area for a few days. This was a great experience and so much better than staying in the park. This Inn looks to be an old motor court that is freshly painted and well maintained. But the real treat is on the inside. The rooms are recently renovated with comfortable furniture and bedding, spotless bathrooms, tiny but modern kitchens, free and powerful wi-fi, nice flat screen TV with satellite channels, air conditioning, etc. Cannot say enough good things about the rooms. Self service laundry is available. The owner Mike was very helpful. Highly recommended.

The Yellowstone Gateway Inn was great. It was perfectly clean and seemed brand new. It was more than we needed for one night, but it was great to have the kitchen available as we got in late and had missed dinner. A quick trip across the street to the little supermarket for something to cook (though it was very expensive for a supermarket) was extremely convenient and a great option instead of another burger place. Our one-room suite had more than enough room and could have easily slept one or two more people comfortably. The tiles, counters, table, bathroom, and bedroom all were high-end and looked brand new. The outside doesnt sparkle as much but the Yellowstone Gateway Inn was absolutely worthwhile and recommended.

Enjoyed our stay at the Yellowstone Gateway immensely! Gardiner is a great place for a base to explore Yellowstone, although some of the more southern areas are a bit of a drive. The Inn itself is very comfortable, with recently renovated rooms that feel more like a comfortable apartment than a hotel. We had a cozy living room with a flat panel TV and convertable sofa, fairly well equiped kitchen (with access to a sweet Weber BBQ!) and a very nicely furnished bedroom. The staff took time to answer questions and offer advise on what to see, and provided extras (like paper towels and coffee) as needed. The price is higher than what you'd pay in a motel, but you'll make it up by preparing 1-2 meals a day in the kitchen. We are looking forward to coming back soon!

Room Tip: No swimming pool or fitness that we were aware of...recommend going river rafting for a cool dip.

We stayed in the suite. There were four of us, so two of us stayed in the living room overnight. The bedroom was really lovely, but unfortunately I did not get to sleep in it. The sofa and single fold out were good by hotel standards, but I must tell you about the rest of the unit. The kitchen had the best of everything; glass top stove, full size microwave, new toaster and coffeepot--everything was new as it was recently remodeled. We had to have the owner come visit and let us know why it was so special. Marble table top, beautiful counter tops that looked like granite. The faucets in the bathroom and towel rods are identical to the ones in my guest bathroom. There were sandstone floors throughout and promises of more perfection as the owner was certainly going to only keep searching for bigger and better things. It was eco friendly and the samples of soap and shampoo and dish detergent were top of the line. Not one thing bad to say. Very fair pricing, too, I might add. No, this is not his Mom!

Room Tip: We had an end unit and it was great. All are on the ground floor. Slept with ear plugs and so hear...

We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the front door of our two bedroom suite. The outside has an older appearance to it, but the inside is very nice and updated. The only down side is that there was only one bathroom for the five of us to share. We had plenty of room, and although we didn't cook in the kitchen, we were pleased at the well stocked kitchen. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom modern and clean.
