Owner description: Celebrating all things Yellowstone, the Flying Pig Adventure Company makes planning a vacation to Yellowstone easy. One call and you can set up anything from a quick float down the river to a complete vacation that includes lodging and an awesome activity package. Our activities include something for everyone including Rafting, Horseback Rides, Fly Fishing, Park Tours and even shopping at our Camp Store. Above all else, we are best known for our friendly staff and excellent customer service. We love sharing the adventures of the Yellowstone area with our guests...and it shows! Many years ago, the Flying Pig got its start with whitewater rafting, and that is still the premier event today. Thousands of people have enjoyed our 8 Mile, 18 Mile and Overnight Rafting Trips on the Yellowstone River. We have awesome guides and our own private river access. In addition to whitewater trips, we also offer scenic floats for those who want to sit back, relax and soak in the views. Looking for a true Montana experience at a horse ranch? The Flying Pig offers horseback rides at a beautiful privately-owned alpine ranch just a few miles above town. The fun continues inside Yellowstone Park with Park Tours and Fly Fishing. In fact, we can take you fishing in some of the best trout rivers and streams in North America. We have also expanded to a second store location at 204 Park Street in Gardiner, where we offer a full complement of camping, hiking, fishing and apparel. Looking to experience Yellowstone first hand? Want to try something new? Give us a call and we will work with you to find just the right adventure. We encourage everyone to get out there and challenge themselves by doing something they never thought they'd do....to let their Pigs Fly!

“Fulfilled adventures with great guides”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

We went fly fishing the first day and it was a fabulous experience! We were all beginners so Tyler and Eric took us out to a lake instead of dealing with the river. We hiked in an amazing 2.5 miles to Cascade lake. The scenery was breathtaking and as pleasing as the fly fishing! Tyler was so professional and yet down to earth and taught us how to cast. He and Eric continually made sure we were learning, untangled our lines, helped us land our fish and offered tidbits of advice. We all caught fish!! (Catch and release). It was a wonderful day with great guides and so worth the money!!! Never made to feel stupid and liked they just enjoyed teaching others to do something they loved so much. Tyler and Eric, thanks for an awesome adventure!! The only suggestion is that if you have a large group, be sure you pick one name and have everyone sign up under that one so there is no confusion as we had a few difficulties with their computer system. Go for it; fly fishing was GREAT!!'

“Horseback ride and Dinner Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

We did the 1 hour horseback ride and dinner. It rained all day and was raining when we drove up to the ranch which is atop a mountain above Gardiner. Only one other family braved the weather so we had a small group. Maybe it was the rain or distant thunder or the sun trying to peek through the clouds, but whatever it was, it was just magical up there! Yes, the horses want nose to butt -- that's what trail horses do! The meadows were beautiful and we enjoyed our time with these gentle animals. The cowboys were all very helpful. As it was cold and raining, dinner was inside by a fireplace. Kids ate as much steak as teenagers want to eat and we then enjoyed the musical talent of 3 of the cowboys. A guitar and their voices and excellent good humor made for a memorable evening for all of us.

“Great horseback ride with the family.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013 via mobile

Had a tough time finding a / hour ride only inside Yellowstone. Found this place from other horseback riding company. Sooo glad I did.
Sean was our trail guide. He was great. Interacted with my kids great. My 10 year old daughter had trouble handling the horse, so he took a line and led her horse for the remainder of the ride. It wasn't the horse. My daughter was nervous.
Thd ride itself, was through a beautiful mountain side with wildflowers and creeks.

Highly recommend for anyone staying at the north end.
I have been on many trail rides and this was very relaxing.

“A great family activity that everyone enjoyed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

We wanted a family activity that would be fun for all—we 60-something grandparents, our four grown children and two 7- and 8-year-old grandchildren. We chose the Saddle and Paddle option with Flying Pig, and it was a fun and safe experience for all. The two-hour duration for both activities was the right length. The ranch personnel were very friendly and the horse ride went quite well, even for the youngest and least experienced riders. The rafting trip was just right for a family group, with a few class 2 rapids. Some of the experienced rafters had hoped for a few class 3s, but we also really enjoyed trying to stand on the edge of the raft and also plunging in during the deep waters. Having wetsuits really helped keep us comfortable.
