“Impressive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

We stayed in cottage 9 which is a newer unit. It was amazing. Full kitchen, 2 queens, 2 twins, so more than enough space for all of us. It was a little bit more cost wise than a motel/hotel but well worth it. The people who run it I believe own it and are the friendliest people. We had a great stay.

Comfortable cottages, friendly staff, great local flavor. We appreciated the extra touches such as the gardens and well-kept grounds. Rooms were clean and well-maintained. The hot tub was a bonus following a chilly raft trip down the Yellowstone. The only suggestion I would make is for housekeeping to use fragrance-free detergent for sheets and towels for those of us who are sensitive to the sickening fragrance in detergent.

This was good value and a beautiful location by the river north of Yellowstone Park, but the room was very small for the number of beds squeezed in there. Service was good, no breakfast on site but well equipped kitchen, though limited room to sit and eat.

Room Tip: The cabins with 2 double beds and bunk beds over are too cramped

We stayed in the Riverside Cottages in the Trout Room recently. We were very happy with the room and the friendly, helpful attitude of the owners. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble .The Fox Efficiency was small but comfortable. However it was probably the size of an average motel room. The only thing I missed was the bath as there was only a shower in the room. I did not like the loft bed above us as I like having somewhere to put things by the bed and the ladder prevented it. You also had to be careful getting out of bed in the night or you would bang your head . Otherwise the room was really nice and the special touches relating to the name were lovely like the fox picture, fox towel rails and the foxes on the shower curtain holders. We were there for 6 nights and found it an ideal base for Yellowstone. It was nice to be able to sit outside your room and watch the world go by . It is a nice quiet little complex with good facilities.

Our daughter just got married in Mammoth, and she and her bridesmaids stayed at Riverside Cottages. What a wonderful choice! The place was beautiful, personable, comfortable and so useful! with a well-stocked kitchen, remodeled bathroom, and even an outdoor deck for family gatherings. The staff (thank you, Cindy) were gracious, friendly and accomodating. This is so much more than a hotel: it's a place to live while you're visiting Yellowstone.

This little collection of cottages in Gardiner, MT is minutes away from the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Perched on a ridge overlooking the Yellowstone River, the property has incredible views of the town, the Roosevelt Arch and the hillsides just inside the park. The views however could not been seen from our room. We stayed just one night so we were comfortable in one of the smallest cottages that slept 3, a double bed for my husband and I with a loft bed for my son. The room was clean but very small. Nice flat screen tv, well appointed bathroom. The best thing about this property, however, is the owners. Very friendly, helpful people with lots of advice on what to see and do in the area.

Room Tip: view all the room configurations on their website to choose the best room, but be sure to know the p...
