“Wonderful....Our stay was the HIGH LIGHT of our Montana 2010 Holiday Trip.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2011

What can we say???

Our stay at the 320 Guest Ranch was so wonderful. Our stay in the McGill Cabin was magical.

First of all....320's service was 5 STAR in professional and personal treatment. Thank you SO MUCH Karen, Steve, Amber, Allie, and who else I have forgotten names.

The restaurant menu and service is SUPERB, right down to the Silver Service Ware!

I love your "policy" of giving $$ credits when one choses not to have their accomodations "made up" everyday.

We have stayed in some of the most beautiful rooms in the world (according to Conde Naste), with Bob stepping into those rooms saying "OMG!!!"..... We said this everyday at the 320 Ranch. The 320 Ranch makes the big ski area's mountain base hotels/condos look SO BORING!!!!!

We have already recommended the 320 Ranch to others, and will always remember our Montana trip centric around our stay with you. I left the Ranch, looking back, saying "I love you"!!!!.

We stayed here one night on our way to Yellowstone. This was one ranch that you could stay just one night. We loved the cabins. They were off the road and quiet . The entire property was so picturesque. There is a BBQ campfire some nights and dinners are avail on the property. The breakfast is included in the price. A hot meal with meat and anything you could want. I could not get the WIFI to work- it was supposed to work in the bar area. The cabin we had was very roomy but kind of dark. You could not read in there but plenty else to do. We did a horseback riding 2 hour and it was gorgeous scenery and the guide was great with his tenn ranch accent. Very friendly and helpful. They let us check out after our ride at 11:30 so we could shower. There is ice avail in the office. No fridge in the basic room or fireplace. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was fine.

Stayed here in one of the River Cabins for a week with 2 kids, had the best time. Here are some thoughts in no particular order. The 320 is in a great location, probably one of the best in the area, the cabin was great, mini kitchen, fireplace and 2 BR. We also used the charcoal grill to cook some bison and chicken when we did not feel like going out. The staff, from reservation to check out, especially the wranglers were all great. My Son loved his horses, Smoothie and Mr. Nut. We did just about everything they had to offer, fish, hike, white water rafting, (Geyser Whitwater is a top notch operator kids loved it, we did the lower river class II-IV) horseback riding, feeding the horses, eating, nightly campfires, hot tub. The river horse ride we took was spectacular. You are also only a few minutes from Big Sky if you want to head over there to hike etc. They also have a ton of split wood on the front porch of each cabin making us wish it was cold enough to make a fire, maybe next time. On Monday they have a Pig roast, (roping practice, music and great food) which was incredible and they have a dining room for dinner otherewise, the trout we had, considering we are next to the fames Gallatin Trout Fishing river, surprisingly, seemed frozen, heavily breaded and very dry, unfortunately. But that was the only small issue we encountered. Breakfast is more than adequate, always a hot option and cereal to get your day off to a good start. We will be back, thanks 320 for a great stay, which we could have stayed longer.

FYI, no cell service, WIFI in lodge office though.

This was our second time at 320. In 2006, we went with 4 adults. Since the kids had not had the experience we decided to go back this year and let them understand the serenity of the 320! Both stays were the most awesome experience ever. We scheduled for the first week that all activites started and had a blast. We stayed for a week and got to do everything we wanted at the ranch as well as Yellowstone, Nevada & Virginia City, and other area attractions. We had the pleasure of seeing more animals this year then in 2006. We even sat out on the cabin porch and watched to white wolves cross the ridge right in front of us. It may take us a couple of years but we will be back as soon as we can.

I acutually stayed at the 320 ranch once in Sept, and then in Jan. Two totally different seasons, both completely unforgettable! In Sept, we stayed in a river cabin and enjoyed a beautifut view of the mountain across the river. We watched the wranglers push a huge heard horses down. It felt like we were in an old western movie. The sound of the Gallatin River soothed our every moment, as we slept, or sat by a roaring camp fire! The cabins very cozy, roomy and warm. The scenery on the ranch was amazing! We took 3 rides while we were there as we wanted to see it from ever angle! I highly recommend the 4 hr "Rim" ride! Our wrangler Blake, a very handsome cowboy, was very courteous, and knowledgeable about the terrin and history of the area. He made us feel like family.
Marce, the ranch mgr., Jick, Jessie, Tora, and Andrew, the other wranglers were also great and helpful!
The General mgr, John, was very friendly and accomodating. Making certain we had everything we needed. Everyone on the ranch seemed to love their job, and made us feel right at home. Because of Steve and Karen in the Saloon, our dining experience was also fabulous.
The food was out of this world! The elk steak, and potatoe soup....OMG! Breakfast each morn was like momma's! Thanks John A.
Stayed again in Janruary, this time stayed in the historic McGill Cabin! This trip was also amazing. No horseback this time, but did find our favorite Wrangler Blake driving sleigh rides. led by a team or huge draft horses. Had a great time as Beth, Marces sweet wife, Katie and Gus, their kids and Mary, John's sweet wife, served us award winning chilli, cheese and crackers and hot cocoa in cowboy tent next to a roaring camp fire! On this trip, I sat by a large picture window next to a fire, reading, as the snow fell softly outside. Wow! Spent the day crosscountry ski and snow mobiling, then slept like a baby. Away from it all (especially phones) and loved every minute of it. I HIGHLY recommend this ranch stay. Of course, if you can pull you're self away, Big Sky, Virginia City and Yellowstone are all just a short drive away...more awesome sites! Thanks 320 for the vacation of a lifetime!

This was my second trip to the 320; my family has gone 4 times in the past 3 years. The staff is fabulous, the food is awesome, the activities are great...and there's really nothing that can speak to the ranch's beautiful location in the gateway. I would highly recommend the 320 for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat of a vacation. No cell service, Internet available only in the Saloon...and about 30 minutes to Big Sky where I got a massage and a facial at the resort.

Make sure to go for the 4 hour trail ride - ask Marce and his gang to take up the path across 191; the view of the Madison range from the top will take your breath away. My dad recommends Wild Trout Fly Shop for float trips and guided wades; he went out with guide Nate (and my boyfriend and cousin) and they caught a ton of fish and had a great day. (I wasn't on the trip, but did 3 days of fishing and caught a 16" B-E-A-utiful rainbow trout on the Gallatin River, under the ranch's bridge. No need to travel far for world class waters when you stay at the 320).

The 320's accommodations are not extravagant. The cabins are neat and tidy and just enough for your stay. We stayed in River Cabin 10 the first time I went, and then in cabin Yellowstone this last time. I'd say River Cabins are the way to go. Each cabin, most importantly, has a grill, so you don't have to eat out every night. I'd recommend doing the pig pickin' on Monday, the BBQ at the point on Wednesday, and dinner at the saloon on Friday. Eat in every other night...but always head down to the bar for a drink after dinner. Steve, the bartender, is awesome and the kitchen staff will usually come out for a drink after they're done their shift. What a crowd! Make sure to try the Stoli Doli (pineapple infused vodka), but only have a couple. They'll creep up on you for sure!

Please feel free to message me with any questions.

We stayed 2 nights at the 320 Ranch. We had cabin #25, one of the single bedrooms with kitchenette in a duplex. The furnishings and kitchen appliances were basic, nothing fancy. The bathroom was also just basic, but had everything we needed, The cabin was very spacious - we fit ourselves and a toddler in a pack-n-play very easily.

In the duplex cabins, you can hear your neighbors. We were lucky to have neighbors on the same sleep schedule as us, and we were not bothered at all. If you got stuck next to a loud family, it may be slightly noisy. But probably no worse than what you'd find at a basic hotel.

The ranch is GREAT! Horse rides, a hayride/BBQ on Wednesday evenings, fantastic staff, laundry services, etc. Breakfast is complimentary and really good also. Eggs, potatoes, bacon/sausage, cereal, coffee, etc.
