“Barely adequate”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2011

My brother and I stayed here in August 2010 while making our hiking tour around the park. We wanted a cheap and comfortable place to stay close to the Two Medicine area. We paid $90 for a room with two beds (furthest north and closest to the road). The service was fine, and although we weren't expecting the Ritz, we would not recommend the room we stayed in.

The room was plain, old and not entirely "fresh" feeling. Part of the room floor didn't seem level, and the head of my bed was lower than the foot of the bed. Both beds were hard and we woke up fatigued and with sore backs, sapping our energy for the rest of the next day. The built-in-the-wall space heater was not adequate for the size of the room (combined with single paned windows on a night that hit the high 30s) and I woke up very cold even with it on.

Compared to the rest of the room, the bathroom was spotless. Towels were clean and I was glad to take an extra long hot shower in order to heat myself up after the cold night.

In sum, the lack of a comfortable bed and inadequate heating allow me not to recommend this place. If I were to visit the East Glacier area again, I would suggest paying the extra $$ to stay at the East Glacier Park Lodge.

The cottages are very nice....a little old and plain, but very nice. Everything worked. About 30 miles of winding road to the east entrance of Glacier NP.

This place was fantastic. We had to change rooms after the first night,, which we knew ahead of time, and almost stayed somewhere else. We are very happy we stayed at Jacobson's! The owners help all they can, the rooms were spacious--first night had an extra bedroom. So close to Waterton, Canada, Many Glacier Road and Two Medicine area. Rode bicycles over to Two Medicine Lake, a little hilly, but absolutely gorgeous ride. 25 mile roundtrip. Jacobson's cottages are on the north end of town, a number of restaurants very close. A 1to2 mile walk gets you into the part of town on Hwy. 2 where Serrano's restaurant is delicious. We were disappointed we could not get any rooms at Many Glacier Lodge, Glacier Lodge, or MacDonald Lake Lodge but now realize we were lucky! Those place are cool and we stopped at each one for beers and (or) lunch but they were very busy-people bustling. Jacobson's cottages (about $85US) was perfect for our September vacation; mellow with chairs out in front of the rooms, birds in the trees---YEAH!

My husband, cousin and I spent three days at Jacobson's Cottages. Folks, if you don't book here you don't know what you are missing. The hosts are very pleasant. Our towels were changed everyday. It was clean and very comfortable. The location is very nice. Not too far from the Amtrak train station, but not within walking distance. There are several eateries within walking distance. Nice and quiet. Enjoy

Well known local place.......clean and centrally located. They pickup and drop off at the train station. Within walking distance to Glacier Park Lodge,

We chose this place after reading the reviews. It sounded like a comfortable, low-priced alternative to East Glacier Lodge. Maybe it was due to it being the last week of the season, but we found the room we got barely acceptable. The shower curtain was moldy, the towels were ragged and the 1960's era wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Expect to find a bare bones room with poorly made furniture, uncomfortable beds, and an overall lack of attention that makes you question it's cleanliness. To add insult to injury - the price was $89 (not the $49 listed on this website) which was only $10 cheaper than a special the East Glacier Lodge was running! Stay here at your own risk!

My parents and grandparents stayed at Jacobsen's Cottages when they came to visit me when I worked at Glacier National Park back in the '70's. They always talked about what a great place it was, and I was happy to find that it hasn't changed. Well, of course it's been updated! But the cottage was clean, comfortable and quiet. And it's an amazing price for being so close to the Park.
