“Nice Older Motel with Very Friendly Staff"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2009

We choose to stay there on our way to Phoenix during easter break. We called to make a phone reservation the week before and the voice on the phone was friendly, accomadating, and clarified our requests in detail. Upon arrival which was about midnight.....the same exuberance was provided by the attendant as weary travellers settled in. The motel is older and has been well maintained. It is the traditional two storey unit with good sized rooms, comfortable beds.....but a bit dated...just showing it age. There is a basic continental breakfast provided in the morning at the office which was great. The staff was very friendly and it is definetly good value if you are looking for well maintained, basic, clean, accomadations. The price is fair as well

We drove up with no reservation and immediately were taken care of by this family motel. Not only did we get a low rate for threee adults but also had complimentary coffee and small confectionaries the next morning prior to leaving. The room was adequate and the best rate on the several hotels we stayed in over the next three weeks. This was our first night traveling and it set the bar high for every other place we stayed. I highly recommend this place.

  • Liked — The friendliness of the place and the quiet nights sleep
  • Disliked — nothing

We stayed here for four nights when we were putting plans together to move to Dillon; the motel is old, but it is a really good price (40 a night), and the room was large. The front desk was VERY helpful and friendly, and it had a good location in town. If you don't mind a place that is older, but has owners that do try to make it nice (our room had a fairly new paintjob), then this is a good place to stay. We would come here again.

  • Liked — The price!
  • Disliked — A burnt out bulb- but they fixed it quickly. :-)

This was a very inexpensive motel and really good value for money. The room was extra large and we were given vouchers for free drinks at a very good recomended restaurant. We were also given useful directions for our onward trip.

We stayed for one night in the Sundowner in September 2007. Room was comfortable and pretty clean. Furniture was a little shabby but, at these prices, you really can't complain. .
