“Wonderful place to stay near Glacier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

These beautiful little cabins are a nice quiet place to stay near the park. Ryan and his wife have thought of everything-the cabins are stocked with everything from cups and plates to bear spray. They are decorated nicely and very comfortable. If you take the back road over to route 2 and Glacier, be sure to stop at Paul's memorial ( a fishing spot) to get some great sunset pics!! We also enjoyed a campfire at night and loved talking to Ryan about the area.

Ryan and crew have thought everything in them little cabins. All you need to bring for a great getaway is yourself and some food. We came early in the season and were the only people there, and may have even got a little carried away at night, but they provided everything you could ever need for a great nights stay in an awesome cabin at a great location. From bikes to bug spray, if your looking to escape, book this place.

Another hotel recommended reclusive Moose (we wanted quiet)since everything was either booked or on a noisy road ! We arrived to the Bear cabin and was so impressed at how clean, cute , quiet and beautifully located to the Park it was. hiking was our goal and unfortunately the next day the government closed all the state parks! Ryan was fantastic to suggest fire towers to hike to. Our epic hike and spectacular view from the tower looking down onto Glacier Park was breathless. The owners are laid back, so knowledgable and will meet all your expectations. We really got to know them when we had them over for some wine, Ryan was so cool to share a bottle of his tasty homemade wine with us and to top off the social hour a Bear visited our cabin (I think he was smelling our garlic wine chicken baking!). This is a fantastic vacation area and we highly recommend staying at their cabins.
Thank you Ryan and Christie
Warm Regards,
Jerry and Karen from San Diego

The Trout cabin at Reclusive Moose was such a welcome surprise after a long day hiking in Glacier! After researching the many places to stay in West Glacier, Reclusive Moose was clearly the best quality and value. Owners were friendly and it was very easy to book our stay. Surprisingly close to the park entrance on a back road. Our cabin had so much rustic character but was new, spotless, and had all the amenities we could want. We enjoyed the big kitchen, log furnishings, beautiful clean bathroom and a big comfortable bed. After dinner in Columbia Falls (enjoyed the Three Forks Grill - also a find!), we settled back to read in the cozy living room. Also nice to have wifi and television (though we didn't watch). I've stayed in a lot of small cabins and hotels across the country, and Reclusive Moose was one of the best. What a great find in this rugged part of the country! Our only regret is that we had to get up and leave so early to go hiking. I would bring family and a bigger group back here anytime, because it would be fun to cook and spend more time in the cabin. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!

We returned to The Reclusive Moose Cabins because we wanted space, a kitchen and close location to Glacier National Park. It was everything we remembered and more. Clean, quiet, convenient, nicely built cabins. A tiny bit off the beaten path but not much. We love it and will return again and again!

We stayed at the Elk cabin at the Reclusive Moose. I am so glad we were referred to this cabin rental by another cabin rental business that was booked. I especially loved the coziness of our cabin and the western decor. The little decorative touches, like the oil rubbed bronze hooks that lined each bedroom and the sliding room doors, made us feel more at home. We also stayed at another cabin rental down the road, where we'd originally booked but that was not available the first two days we were in Montana, which is how we were referred to the Reclusive Moose. After leaving the Reclusive Moose, which was beautiful and nestled in the woods, we were disappointed with the second cabin rental which was closer to Glacier but not nearly as friendly as Christie and Ryan are. Our second rental which I won't name here, had dirty cabinet doors, a musty smell, and outdated furniture with cheesy wall art. The second cabin was closer to the entrance of Glacier National Park (in West Glacier), but it was located on a field with lots of sun and was out in the open (which didn't feel nearly as private or cozy).

I am so happy we found the Reclusive Moose! We will definitely return here for our next trip to Montana!

The Reclusive Moose right outside the borders of Glacier National Park was the perfect, tucked away, convenient cabin to stay in! If you want the perfect spot to stay while exploring all the wonders of Glacier National Park and the surrounding area, this is it. The owners are very accommodating and friendly~ you will want to go back very soon!
