“Great get away!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

My GirlFriend and I found this place online and booked 5 nights it seemed a little pricy but is well worth the stay. If you are tired of hotels this is the place to stay! It is so relaxing, and close to lots of activities, and the staff are awesome!

We will be coming back here!

This place is situated in the woods right off Hwy 40 between Whitedish and Columbia Falls. The cabins are good sized and offer that Montana feel.

We stayed on a cabin nearest the highway. You could hear traffic but not inside. Cabin was well equipped and each include a charcoal grill. Space between the cabins is a little tight but our neighbors were friendly and we didn't mind. Hot tub and sauna areas were nice.

There's a grocery store three miles away which makes supply and food runs quick and easy.

The price we paid for our cabin was comparable to what a standard hotel room in this area costs. I would stay here again and recommend.

North Forty offers cabins located in a mature dense forest. All of the cabins are surrounded by trees and green, and they are well separated from each other.

The cabins are spacious and are kept extremely clean by housekeeping. They have bedrooms with very comfortable bedding, bathrooms and large full kitchens. There's also a sofa sitting area with coffee table.

Our cabin happened to be the one closest to the highway, so unfortunately the noise from Route 40 was constant on the front porch during the day. However, the cabin was well sound proofed so that was not a problem inside. The cabins on the back row farther into the woods have a much better location and are quieter. The ones in the rear back onto the woods.

The resort is clean and well managed but a bit impersonal. It has the feel of a very upscale motel rather than a lodge or inn.

It's a 20-30 minute drive to Glacier NP (and the Going to the Sun road there is crowded). Nearby Columbia Falls has little to offer, but Whitefish (10 mins.) has some good shops and restaurants.

My wife and i stayed at North Forty to have access to Glacier National Park as well as Whitefish and Big Mountain. We loved it. North Forty is the perfect location. Easy access to highway but feels secluded and peaceful. Cabins are clean and comfortable with a nice front porch to stretch out and take in the mountain air. It's very nice with just enough modern conveniences without losing its mountain cabin feel which is exactly what we wanted.

We stayed at the North Forty on our way to Glacier and Banff and will definitely stay there again. Our GPS didn't locate them correctly, something about them being in Whitefish but address is Columbia Falls on the confirmation. Quiet, really nice cabins, nicely furnished, bedding is nice, etc. Definitely recommend. Nice little trail to take pup on a walk thru the woods, easy access to Glacier. Pet friendly is a bonus.

Room Tip: Didn't see a bad location for any of the cabins.

Great value for money we stayed on a weekend in spring and we were the only people staying there it seemed.

We had 4 people staying in the cabin, it had one room with one double bed and one single bed, and then a pull out sofa bed in the living room. it was pretty cramped in the living room when the sofa bed was open you literally had ti climb over the bed ti get out the door.

The room had everything but i would suggest ti people That if they were hoping to share with other people for a longer time it's not quite big enough for it to be comfortable. I was a little annoyed that I couldnt walk out the front door without waking up the people asleep on the couch. I've stayed in other larger rooms where this wasn't such a problem.

Much better value than staying closer to the park, but also not in town at all either. It's kind of in the middle, but still close to a road. I think I would have preferred to either be in town with access tothe shops bars and restaurants or out truly in the forest (away from the sound and sight of the main highway - although the noise did not bother us at all inside it did affect the ambience of the whole place)

Room Tip: I guess away from the road would be better.
