Fantastic welcome - rooms large , bed large & sumptious. Magnificent breakfast on both days. The garden had plenty of areas to sit with decking and tables to sip drink & socialize. Our bikes had a safe place outside to be locked away & out of the view of the public.

The joy of travelling is variety. if you want the same everywhere eat in McDonalds.
12 of us stayed 2 nights here and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
put yourself in Chris the owners shoes. 9 rooms changing every night or so for 17 years, there must be some fatigue in his attitude but there was none here. he was charming and helpful and the breakfast was good, fruit salad and he asked in advance what we wanted and courageously tackled porridge for 12 English Cyclists.
Will I come again, definately

My husband and I stayed two nights here, having booked the Audobon Suite with adjoining sitting room. The pictures on the website are lovely, but it was even more beautiful in person! I was so excited to be staying here. The grandeur of this Queen Ann masterpiece was mesmerizing. So many interesting antiques in the common areas, including an incredibly rare upright disc player the size of a large amoire.

Our room was just gorgeous and the original, oversized bedroom furniture procured by the mansion's original owner / builder, German brewer Julius Lehrkind, was stunning when you consider what it took to ship it to Montana at the turn of the century.

Host Chris Nixon is gracious and welcoming and prepares truly delicious breakfast meals. The 'breakfast' part of this bed and breakfast is not a rushed affair, so expect to enjoy good conversation with fellow guests as the courses are prepared and served on period china.

The grounds and landscaping are lovely and have even won awards for their historic accuracy. The location of the building, however, may give some travelers pause. Know that it is in an industrial-looking area of town, one that is historical, though. In fact, the mansion is located in and is the heart of the Bozeman Brewery Historic District. The original owner built his residence adjacent to his own brewery, which was a common practice in Germany at the time. The brewery is now a historic ruin, and a few subsequent industrial buildings have popped up in the neighborhood, but it is by no means blighted or ugly -- just not much to do in the immediate vicinity aside from walking the grounds and visiting the ruins. Historic Downtown, however, is a mere mile away, so you will find all the shopping and dining charm that Bozeman offers with a 5-minute drive. Also note that train tracks run through town, and due to all the railroad crossings, the blare of train whistles can fill the air from time to time. Some engineers can yank that whistle cord pretty hard and steady, so an open window at night might wake you up like it did us.

All in all, though, we give this place 5 stars and would gladly stay here again!

Room Tip: The Audobon Suite is the most expensive, but we felt it was worth it to splurge a little. Boy were w...

Truly appreciative of Chris and his many indulgences. He upgraded us to the Audubon, got up early to make us breakfast, and brought us a fan we actually turned out not to need. There was some noise from passing trains in the night, but it really only contributed to the Montana experience. Good place.

Great B&B! Friendly hosts (and great cook), private, romantic. Definitely one of the best features of Bozeman. Lots of history and charm. My wife and I will be back for future visits. If you get a chance, check it out!

Room Tip: Buckeye room (in the Garden house) has a nice full-size walk-in shower, while the other rooms are mo...

Chris was fabulous and breakfast and the grounds were a wonderful oasis during our Bozeman stay. I wish it had been longer! It was great meeting the other guests over breakfast; everyone seemed to be happy dawdling over coffee. Hope I can return soon.

Room Tip: We had a room in the garden house where the sound of the fountain wafted in all night long. Very rel...
