“Perfect spot, so peaceful.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

I was there for a week at the end of May with family. We all really enjoyed our stay there! Rooms were spotless, very friendly staff, able to anticipate any needs. Gorgeous spot, deer everywhere, very pretty. Easily accessible to downtown Bozeman. Couldn't imagine staying anywhere else on a return trip.

On my husband's birthday, I took him to the Gallatin River Lodge for an overnight stay. It was an experience we will definitely repeat in the future. The accommodations were beautiful in our jacuzzi suite, the staff was friendly and eager to assist with any of our needs, and above all the food was amazing! The dining area was cozy and inviting. We began our evening meal with an appetizer of blue cheese scallops which were the best I have ever tasted. Next, was a delicious vegetable bisque soup followed by a steak dinner prepared to perfection. The staff knowledge of different wines and wine pairings was also impressive. We highly reccommend an evening stay, or even just dinner at the Gallatin River Lodge.

I stayed here with my father-in-law for 4 nights with 3 days of great fishing. The staff was very hospitable and anticipated everything that we could want or need. The food was excellent as well as the wine list. Our fishing guide Ryan was very professional and took us from total novice fly fisherman to being able to catch trout on the Madison River. I will definitely go back!!

First of all, I should mention I never post reviews online...until now. We can't stop thinking or talking about the Gallatin River Lodge. We were in Montana for a wedding and decided we wanted to stay some place other than a typical hotel. After much research I contacted the Gallatin and received prompt responses to all of my questions. We spent 4 nights at the Gallatin River Lodge and absolutely loved it!

It's a beautiful lodge in a beautiful, peaceful location. The lodge is clean and so very relaxing. It's spacious but yet because of the design, it feels so very cozy. Our suite was beautiful with great views, very comfortable and cozy. It had everything we needed and more. The beds are to die for comfortable. In fact, we ordered some sheets from the Gallatin River Lodge for our bed at home!

The food was wonderful! We had a delicious breakfast each morning. Our "personal" breakfast chef was great!! (Thanks Keith!!) Sadly, we only had one evening available to have dinner there because of wedding festivities elsewhere. But the dinner we had was wonderful! Everything on the menu sounded so good we wanted to try it all. We'll be back to try the rest!

To top everything off....was the staff. They were all so wonderful and so professional, but yet, they were so down to earth and made us feel like family. We especially loved Keith the General Manager! He was so helpful, always smiling and gracious, and so willing to go the extra mile. We really felt he made our stay extra special. The owners of this establishment are very lucky to have him! We wanted to take him home with us!

The lodge specializes in fishing, but during the winter offers special packages for non-fishers. The setting is lovely, surrounded by fields and distant mountain ranges. Our large room included a big, comfortable bed, a sitting area, a whirlpool tub and a gas fireplace. The restaurant serves excellent food with a local flavor. The wine list is also quite good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were picked up at the airport (about 15 minutes away) and returned there after our stay. We stayed at the lodge before and after a tour of Yellowstone. As part of a longer trip or just a romantic weekend getaway, I would highly recommend the Gallatin River Lodge.

I fear bed and breakfasts. The forced interactions and nosy family-away-from-family feel freaks me out. The Gallatin Lodge is no such place. You really have the choice of how you want your vacation to go -- either very active and engaged with the staff and guests in Lodge-centric activities or secluded and on your own. We opted for a healthy dose of both and got a star treatment. The owner and staff were friendly and personable without overdoing it. The rooms and public areas were private yet spacious. The outdoor surroundings are almost too good to be true [those countless deer and birds HAVE to be animatronics from Disney]. The food is unreal -- after five days of stellar dinners, we actually took a break at a [Look away, Gallatin Lodge staff] a local burger joint. We opted for fishing with an outside outfitter and later took a road trip to Little Bighorn. Each time, the Lodge either had snacks waiting or had packed us a picnic lunch. And when I forgot my city slicker shoes in the room, they mailed them back. Great place, worth every penny for a real getaway.

This was a little getaway for my husband and I and we very much enjoyed staying here. It was "low-season" so it was nice and quiet most of the time. I cannot say enough about the staff here. So personable and accomodating...we felt like friends. Thank you Keith, Ricki and yes you too Miss Kim for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I would recommend highly!
