“Close to downtown and MSU”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We stayed at The Olive Branch Inn in April 2014. We enjoyed having a house to stay in with a kitchen and nice sitting area. We liked not having a host or formal breakfast in the morning. The house was very clean, cozy, and comfortable. It was great being able to walk downtown and the surrounding neighborhood. It was much better than staying in a hotel on the interstate or a run-down motel downtown! We also enjoyed having a refrigerator and use of the kitchen.... We would stay here again, especially if we knew we would have the entire house to ourselves!

Like other reviewers, we were at first surprised by the lack of prepared breakfast, but then the freedom of having our "own" charming house made up for it. Its great location enabled us to walk to the swimming pool, the gym, and all of town. Comfortable bedding and very very clean.

Stayed for three nights in October. Loved the quiet location, so close to downtown and MSU campus. The lack of breakfast was more than made-up for by the cozy european bedding. We will return and stay here again.

The Inn was very quaint, like stepping back in time. At first we were taken aback by thew absence of a host and then again by the absence of a prepared breakfast. All in all, we didn't mind, but we should have been alerted ahead of time. But, on the plus side, we had the house to ourselves, were just blocks from downtown and the Farmers Mket and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Room Tip: During the hot weather, stay in a downstairs room. No air conditioning.

We stayed two nights in Bozeman after a month on the road in various accommodations. The Olive Branch was indeed the ideal place for us to stay in the charming town of Bozeman. This is why:

1. We wanted to be "in town" and be able to walk on pretty residential streets for our comings and goings. Very convenient to Main Street; Very convenient for a stroll; Very convenient to one of Bozeman's nice parks.
2. The building with its soft wood tone floors and bright wallpaper and paint was inviting and tastefully done. Made you feel good to be on and in the property.
3. The garden porch was inviting and provided a nice place to relax outside or eat and be away from the street.
4. Town "noise" was minimum.
5. We liked that there was no prepared breakfast with a time to be seated. We liked just getting up when we wanted to and then fixing breakfast from the provided coffee, tea, fruits, juices, milk and cereal. If you want to have your special foods, then the access to the fridge is very nice.
6. The wifi was excellent and handy for uploading those trip pictures.
7. There is no host. You are provided with a key and a greeting letter so you kinda feel like you are in your own home.
8. We liked the washer/dryer access for catching up on the laundry from all the hikes.

We recommend the Olive Branch!

If you want to be chatty with the host, be served a big breakfast, have your bed made then you might want to investigate further. =) Try the Olive Branch, though; you will like it!

Room Tip: The Garden Room is on the first floor and has an access door to the garden and patio deck. If you a...

i stayed there during september and loved every minute of it! it is the perfect location - only a few blocks away from the downtown area, so you really can walk to anything you might need to get to. the owner was so kind, and i'm so thankful to have found this gem. can't wait to go back!

I rented the 1-3 floors for a 4-night weekend for my husband's surprise 75th birthday in July 2012! The Olive Branch Inn was perfect. We were not looking for a B&B so this fit our needs perfectly.I had plenty of continental breakfast fare for our group and we had the freedom to come and go through the house with just family. This house is perfectly outfitted for an independent group. We walked to town for shopping, entertainment, some meals and it was a short two block walk to the center of Main Street.
We had 10 of our group at The Inn (4 couples and 2 singles) and everyone had their own bathroom, bathrobes, fan, a/c upon need except 3rd floor. We had a spare room that would have had to share a bath if occupied. The evenings are cool so the fans are quite adequate and Cecily installed the window /ac in event days got extremely hot. We were very satisfied. Everyone said their bed was VERY comfortable!
The house is spotless, very nice linens and terry cloth robes. Very large dining room plus deck off back with plenty of chairs, small tables and patio table. Plenty of dishes and utensils plus some of the basics so you don't have to start housekeeping from scratch for a few days or week. This house could have not been more perfect for our needs. Everyone loved it as our gathering place. Some bathrooms were small but one does not care when you have your own bathroom in this magnificient Inn! The 3rd floor apartment was a hit as a gathering place for the grandchildren and the couple who stayed there were numbero uno with their niece and nephews. It was a fabulous studio with washer/dryer and kitchen and wooden cathedral ceiling!
The website does entirely more justice to the property than my photos! I recommend checking their website.
The only caveat I would interject would be to followup regularly to confirm your reservation, keep your records of deposits, and make sure that Cecily keeps you apprised if anyone is
renting in the basement rooms if you are renting the top 3 floors of The Inn. We were surprised to encounter the renter in the kitchen when we were told the basement would be vacant and we could use if someone in our group was uncomfortable. The renter was lovely and it was not a problem but we would have like to have been aware that she had access to the house that we had rented. She has her own kitchen but was just looking for a needed utensil. We are pretty easy going but it could really unnerve someone unaware!
We would definitely rent The Olive Branch Inn again and would recommend to others! Cecily is deilghtful and very accomodating but she might need a new record keeping system.
Although I tend to give a 5 to a property that provides exemplary service, this deserves a 5 for the property that it is - a lovely vacation rental for a large group!

Room Tip: Make sure you followup on reservation and keep records of deposits. If you are having a family affai...
