“Best Tapas We Have ever eaten!”

We visited this small and incredibly personal restaurant this last week. You walk in and want to take a deep breath as the ambience takes over. I must say, of the (6) items we ordered from the menu, i have never tried another similar dish as well prepared. Perfectly portioned, complex flavors filled our table for hours. The atmosphere is exquisite, and the staff was smiling and as helpful as can be. I wish i could bring this restaurant home with us! wow. (try the crab cakes and sangria, sizzling shrimp, and sliders)

“Nice Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2010

Nice food, tasty, and different sort of stuff for this town full of Mexican restaurants. The tables are a bit small if you're going to order more than three dishes, which is, after all, what tapas are supposed to be. They even had a dish made with real blue crab from the east. It lacked some of the flavor associated with Chesapeake Bay crabmeat, but, hey, this is the Rocky Mountains. Great wait staff, friendly and efficient.

“Another great little restaurant in Bozeman”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2010

Took a chance upon reading positive reviews on TripAdvisor, and we were not disappointed. We ordered five items for two people, and that was plenty. The quality of the food was outstanding. I especially liked the Spanish meatballs (nicely spiced ground beef and chorizo) and the patatas bravas (crispy on the outside, chewy inside). The wine list was eclectic but reasonably priced. The two Spanish red wines we tasted were robust and fruity and thus a good match for the food. Service was fast, pleasant, and courteous. Desserts looked wonderful but we had no room to spare.

A couple of comments on the menu: tapas are a bit pricey, especially for Bozeman. The average meat/seafood tapa costs $8-9, with some up to $14 (like crab cakes). Also, the menu could use a bit more variety, especially in the $5-6 range. For instance, more veggie / cheese-based tapas, small-plate salads, chorizo, etc. would complement the beef- and seafood-based menu nicely.

Reservations accepted only for parties of 6 or more.

Nevertheless, a great find in Bozeman, and we will definitely be back for more!

“cozy eclectic bar with great food and service for reasonable prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2009

Over the Tapas was a welcome retreat on our recent trip to Bozeman. The food was excellent. The service attentive without being obtrusive. We hit the restaurant early and enjoyed a lot of attention, but as other customers came in they were treated similarly. The wine list was excellent and the variety of tapas was great. Our lamb sliders with gorgonzola and onions were tasty, our potatoes covered in sea salt with dipping sauces were a welcome change from the usual potato choices. The chicken skewers were perfectly cooked. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an out-of-the-ordinary meal.

“Even better tapas than Spain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2009

We loved this little restaurant on a side street in Bozeman. Who would think of finding great tapas in Bozeman! Modern decor but comfortable. Great selection and the staff was very helpful. We selected 6 different tapas to share and that was more than enough. Bacon wrapped dates were to die for.
