We pulled into the Hampton Inn and Suites and spied the Montana Rib and Chop House. We were in the market for a burger and figured that a steakhouse would have a good burger and they did. Our server left a little to be desired so I won't name her. We ordered a couple of glasses of Fetzer Gewürztraminer and were pleased with it. I ordered the 1/2 pound burger and my wife ordered a salad. We split the burger and were we ever glad that we did. My wife said the salad was excellent and when the burger came we both thought that it was excellent. The burger came with baked beans on the side and they were Campbell s baked beans which is the best guess that I could come up with. They were OK but not exceptional. I added the hot BBQ sauce that was on the table and it improved them immensely. When we were done eating we were not stuffed so we asked about dessert and picked a brownie sandwich. The brownie sandwich consisted of two brownies with ice cream in the middle and whipped cream all over it.
The brownie sandwich was so bad that it nearly spoiled the meal. The ice cream and whipped cream were from this century but the brownie had been baked ages ago. It was so dried out that you could pound nails with it. We told our server about the disgusting dessert and she took it off of the bill but took offense to our complaint. She pouted. I just wrote it off to her youth and the obvious lack of staff training. This is more of a bar restaurant and it is LOUD. The server could not hear us order and had to bend over the table to hear us. It is LOUD! We sat next to each other and we couldn't hear each other.
