“Best restaurant in Big Sky??”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014 via mobile

Went last night with relatively high expectations. nice atmosphere, pleasant service,, but ver amateurish..food very unexciting, they messed the timing up on the food badly. Brought our entrées while we were not even halfway finished with our appetizers..overall very mediocre experience.. Just make it taste good!

“Dear Lord, what is this swill?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Based on reviews, we felt this was a safe bet for a nice dinner; we were quite wrong.
I had the scallops. They were described as being pan seared, however they came out francaise style (breaded, and dripping with a lemony sauce) atop a crunchy rice mixed with canned veg. While undercooked rice and misrepresented cooking technique are offensive, the biggest disappointment was in the over cooked, undoubtedly frozen, scallops; they had the texture of boiled chicken.
My boyfriend ordered the swordfish. Again, it was obviously frozen. The accompanying rice was cooked well, but the overtly fishy flavor of the dish was unforgivable....and inedible.
I'm unsure why this restaurant has such great reviews; perhaps this was a terribly off night for Olive B's, or maybe other diners' palates are accustom to chain restaraunts. Whichever the case, should you seek a properly prepared meal, please move on, for this is not the place in which taste buds are delighted.

“Never disappoints”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

This is probably the best restaurant in Big Sky. I have never been disappointed with the food, and the service is always attentive and friendly!

The drinks were served promptly, delicious and strong. Halfway through his drink my husband noticed there was a big crack in his glass- a complete new drink appeared without issue.

Tonight we started with the calamari and the mussel special. The calamari is always good, but the mussels outshined the calamari. The broth on the mussels was so delicious we debated drinking it! At least we had the warm bread and herb butter to sop some of it up.

The Pheasant was delicious, hawaiian ono a little dry but I think that may be the nature of this fish. The sauce on this fish was a little heavy too. My daughter had bison wellington and loved it, but I did notice she peeled off the puff pastry which looked a little soggy. Ice cream and bread pudding were really good but we were too full to finish the large desserts.

The food was very good overall. Top that off with a nice friendly waitress named Katey, and the rest of the staff who all pitched in and we had a wonderful meal.

“Great Dining, Amazing Desserts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

My family and I dined here over the holidays this year and had a fantastic meal. Tucked away in a shopping center away from what might be considered the center of town, Olive B's is worth seeking out for lunch or dinner. The bison special was fantastic, and the 2 Mud Pie desserts we ordered were beyond compare. Service is excellent, and we can't wait to return for another great meal
